Shut the fuck up you retarded schizophrenic gorilla nigger.
>>
>>215644007
How else would you explain wormholes?
>>
>>215644083
Idk, since I'm not an expert, I think it's an ok trope to get the message across for the brainlets about wormholes.
Of course, they might not even work that way, since wormholes could allow time-, or multiverse travel, depending on how the universe works.
I just wanted to know why many people diss this trope.

Someone should make the parody version where a character on a space mission says 'I thought nothing could go faster than the speed of light' and then every single other character in the scene grabs a piece of paper and a pencil and they all start explaining wormholes.
>>
>>215644007
How would a wormhole "fold space" anyway?
>>
>>215644386
Gravity's folding space, not the wormhole.
>>
it feeds into redditor midwit egos by explaining some fake theory from The Scienceā„¢ that they worship. wormholes are definitely fake, like all theoretical physics, but pseuds feel very smart when this fake shit they saw on some documentary about space when they were a kid gets referenced in scifi media
>>
the concept of folding space is impossible to understand anyways
>>
>>215644007
It happens too many times. Even when worm holes don't appear in the movie.
>>
I only ever seen this in one movie (event horizon)
>>
>>215644007
Show me five times they have done this
>>
>>215644452
obviously they are fictional. the point is making them comprehensible and as close to real as possible. thats why "theoretically" it COULD be real and it wouldnt break everything we know about the universe. its within the suspension of disbelief so it doesnt seem like "magic" even though it doesnt really exist.
>>
I don't get it tbhq

You bastard
>>
>>215644007
Its retarded because it makes it seem like space is two dimensional. It isn't. So its a dumb way of explaining a bullshit way of skipping travel
>>
>>215644083
um, I dunno, maybe, WORMS?
>>
>>215644083
why would you explain it this way, the person would just look at the paper and ask you how you just folded the whole universe just like that
>>
>>215645085
Interstellar
Event Horizon
Contact
Stranger Things
Thor Love and Thunder
A Wrinkle In Time
>>

There is a scene in Stargate where this explanation is used and the alien just says no and looks disappointed.
>>
>>215644007
If blackholes bends space time
Cant we use then to travel to one part to another really quick?
>>
>>215646567
This is one of the most dissapointing things i've read on 4chan and gives me notice that we are doomed as species.
>>
>>215644083
warm holes like your mummys which i lovingly glazed with my cream
>>
>>215644452
>like all theoretical physics
Black holes once only existed in theoretical physics but now we have an actual photo of one.

people like you are exactly who i was referring to
