Nothing wrong with a fella drinking a brew and eating some grub while taking in a kino. Why do chuds let guys like this get to them?

What benefits do I get from the cinema experience that I don't get at home other than a larger screen?

>The rise of streaming services

>Quality of theaters has taken a massive downturn
>General public interest in theatrical movies that are not blockbusters has fallen (i.e. death of the mid-budget movie

>>215649823
Because Democrat-run states shut down, and people just didn't give a shit about going to them anymore. Not only that, they got too expensive and I got sick of dealing with people making noise and being on their phones.

People blame the pandemic, but to be honest, this would have happened either way. The pandemic just sped up the process

>Eating while watching a film
I'll never understand this. Surely you can resist the urge to stuff your fat gullet with food for an hour or two

Entertainment and food goes back to the time of Ancient Rome with the gladiators in The Coliseum. I'm not sure if you're just stupid or disingenuous when you say you don't understand it.
>>
>>215649823
People now have /tv/s 10X larger than they grew up with, new releases come out in weeks instead of months, and there’s no shortage of shit to watch.
Also air conditioning but that’s more of a 20th century thing.

The panda express virus killed the theater industry (and Rob's livelihood) remember?
>>
>>215650154
The difference between that and theaters is that the coliseum was an open air space. Not a tight confined area that depending on the theater may not even be well ventilated. I don't want to endure the musk of fucking nachos, hot dogs, burgers, pizza and beer burps. It's fucking gross
>>
>>215650196
The Bat Flu didn't kill theaters. Greedy studios and theater chains did
>>
>>215649957
There was the shared experience of watching movies in a group, or having something to talk about the following Monday. But as our society has become more atomized that’s less and less common.

Those are the fattest Americans. But we still have a 40% obesity rate. You could go to any busy public space. The fat people outweigh the skinny people by a wide margin.

Don't blame me because you're too much of a moron to understand why people would naturally want to snack on something during a movie.

I do want to emphasize snacks. Something like popcorn, soda, or candy. Yeah, greasy 7-11 shit is a bridge too far.

How am I meant to immerse myself in the movie with this shit going on around me in every direction? I'd rather watching a camrip in the peace of my own home, it's not like many movies are worth the "theater experience" anymore.
>>
>>215649823
Movies with all too dark "lighting", grey or blue filters for everything, everything about the framing being about dead center and right up front, there's no more background or side action of any kind now, dialogue being quip quip quip humorous cultural pop reference, name drop name drop nostalgia bait quip quip zoomzoom 676767 meme, jump scare whisper whisper can't hear you BOOM explosion to blow out your ear drums.

The entire designing of a movie now seems not to center around 300 respectful people in a dark and quiet room taking in a slow burn drama or high minded intellectual piece of cinema where subtleties and nuances form life long impressions on an audience - and more to be something later on chopped up into 10-15 second sequences to be watched by children holding their phones upright with their screens at 200% brightness while they swipe through tiktok and YouTube shorts only as long as their ADHD medication will allow them to sit still long enough to grasp for content between memes and name drops before they shit post on X and reddit about how kino they think they are.

I don't eat at cinemas either since it's an issue of respecting your fellow viewers, but if you take issue with 'eating while watching a film' in itself and don't enjoy a meal while watching a movie at home you have crippling autism

>Oh, and of COURSE! My apologies for not realizing that the hot sauce menu was a subset of the MAIN menu (albeit a separate pamphlet detailing the intricacies of each sauce, as well as pairing suggestions, would be a welcome addition (pass that along to your sauce monger)). I shall sample your in-house BEELZEBUTT'S 7,000,000 SCOVILLE HEMORRHOID HOLOCAUST NUCLEAR ANAL LEAKAGE XXXXXX FECAL FURY SAUCE; and, my sweet, mayhaps a bottle of it to go? Though I am yet to taste it, I am sure that my buddies at the barcade - yes, a portmanteau of 'bar' and 'arcade,' and YES, you can actually DRINK as you PLAY VIDEO GAMES, whatever will they think of next? - will be utterly TICKLED by the label your crew has concocted for that bottle!

Because movie theater etiquette died. The idea of being quiet to allow others to have a peaceful viewing experience Is long gone. Nowadays people will just talk the entire fucking movie, throw popcorn and horse around, or treat it like a concert and film themselves doing all sorts of dumb shit to post online.

This isn't even mentioning how shit movies themselves are or how prices are retarded

Nobody was asking for writers + actors to get more money when all they give us is shit
They just new it was their last chance to milk the system #TimesUp

Thanks to our great melting pot culture we barely have anything in common with our neighbors and coworkers. How can you talk about movies at work when half the people there speak very little English?

>>
>>215649823
You can watch shit at home and everyone has a good TV these days.
>>
The home movie experience keeps improving.
The cinemas are deteriorating- refreshments more expensive, crowds more annoying, and literally the cinema facilities deteriorating- how often do you see a new cinema open? Or an existing one getting refurbished?
Malls dying- nobody's spending the day out in the same way, there's no impromptu trip to the cinema while you're already out.
The MAGIC OF THE MOVIES is gone, people are used to most movies being some filler bullshit to make fun of.
The average person is way less fond of strangers around him than he used to be. There's no camaraderie of being part of the audience together. People just want others to shut up and stay away.
Movies keep getting worse, concessions shrink, yet somehow I'm expected to pay multiple times as much for both when I could just watch something actually good at home with better food I didn't get triple-time rooked on?
>>
>>215649823
From 2020 I have probably seen 6 movies in theatres and every time there was a nigger on its phone

Did horseback riding and horse drawn carridges completely end when the automobile took over? Is there not syill a niche market for them?

The theaters were already declining and the Wuhan Fluhan put a pillow on its face.

Probably doesn't help now that the West has been reverse colonised by the poos and they set off firecrackers in theatres, get up and chimp out like every scene is its own bollywood dance number.

It's a matter of inflation + comfort in waiting for a digital release. Black Phone 2 can be seen at home in a couple days and it came out like 3 weeks ago. Why would anyone fork over $50+ minimum for two people when they can wait a few weeks to watch it at home?
>>
>>215653709
Yup I worked in theaters for almost a decade and everything you say checks out. A lot of these major chains are content with letting lesser performing theaters rot and lose business until they are forced to close. Regal especially is one of the cheapest companies you can work for. Anything to save a little bit of money. The few renovations are reserved only for sites that do exceedingly well or are well positioned to succeed in a given area. That chapter 11 really fucked them a few years back.
>>
>>215649823
