A lot of these major chains are content with letting lesser performing theaters rot and lose business until they are forced to close. Regal especially is one of the cheapest companies you can work for. Anything to save a little bit of money. The few renovations are reserved only for sites that do exceedingly well or are well positioned to succeed in a given area. That chapter 11 really fucked them a few years back.
