No. It's a slice of life movie where there's literally one sex scene (at the beginning) and a bit of (non-gratuitous given what her character represents) leering at Bau. If anything the film is about the problems that attend sex and desire.

Watched Eureka (2000). Don't even want to save an image for this post. It feels upsetting getting memed into a 4 hour film that's utterly meaningless and shit. Some of my favourite films are slow so I guess its a high risk game but i'm never doing it for an unknown director again.

what up dingo gang!!! dropping a review of Rampage: Capital Punishment for you to peruse! Don't forget to smash that follow button and drop a like if you liked the review!
>No budget trashy thriller. Bill Williamson shoots a bunch of people, rants a lot, then blows up a bunch of people. Shot and lit better than the first one, with some good looking explosions and slow mo shots and plenty of squibs. Still no real action against equal opponents where Bill might actually be at risk, except for a bizarre bloodless ammo dump on a SWAT team at the end (presumably because cutting holes in those expensive costumes and helmets for squibs wasn't an option). I have no idea why Bill Williamson is ranting about the environment and capitalism and human rights for most of the runtime, but Fletcher shows some poignancy when confronted with family drama and has a decent amount of deranged charisma. That dude from White Chicks is in this along with Boll himself, who are both pretty bad. Boll is still a master of making hundreds of thousands of dollars look like a few million dollars. Pretty good.

>Boll was criticized in 2005 regarding his funding method, attributed to a loophole in the German tax laws that was finally closed in 2006.[40] In the DVD commentary of Alone in the Dark, Boll explains how he used to fund his films: "[...] the reason I am able to do these kind of movies is I have a tax shelter fund in Germany, and if you invest in a movie in Germany you get basically fifty percent back from the government."

One guy used to post on every Diane Lane movie board, obsessively, he probably even posted on the Gunshy board, he was the first post of every Diane Lane movie, and he had one question, and one question only. "Can you find me that picture of Diane Lane in thigh high boots." Diane Lane made movies where all she wore were thigh high boots for the entire duration. This set up the magic where people would then start posting links to pictures of Diane Lane in thigh high boots and the original poster would simply reply, "No, that's not the one." He did this for years, hundreds of times. An absolute legend. I hope that guy found what he was looking for. To Diane Lane in thigh high boots and all the pictures of them. As an Australian leftist I can really relate to Mike Leigh's films, it's like I've had all of these conversations before

It's cool that the Angry Video Game Nerd likes Jan Švankmajer. I still don't know what a film noir actually is tho.

sure, but these are wide brushstroke-answers.

I keep reading in reviews (and i struggle to find any good insightful reviews of this) that "it's like Marlowe wakes up to the 70s from a long nap he started in the 40s in the first scene"
How were Terry Lennox, Roger Wade and Marty Augustine emblematic of 70s America?
What's the significance of Hollywood being the milieu?

Watched the Scorsese Cape Fear
It mostly sucks and is boring, except for the very end where they’re whacking each other with rocks and Cady sinks beneath the water
Interested in the original, it might be a lot better
>>
>>215694989
The original is a great thriller, in the psychosexual tradition of Fred 'Cock. A certified must watch.

>>215657918
Some movies you can log without watching at all, because the trinity of director+trailer+who likes it, is enough to determine what a movie is with 90% accuracy.
