I do not know whether this has been discussed before, but the Nostalgia Critic seems to be incurably locked into an extremely annoying vocal cadence whenever he does an extended voiceover during any of his reviews. During skits and such it's not really that bad, but whenever he speaks at length over clips from the movie, imo his cadence makes the review almost unwatchable. Here's how it usually plays out: he begins sentences speaking in a low register, but as he approaches the middle or end of a clause or switches from one clause to another, he increases his pitch in a way that is most typical when someone asks a question -- except he is generally speaking in declarative sentences. It serves no purpose, and he does it almost constantly. Take his recent review of Tremors as an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlA7SCZs5PgThe voiceover starting at 2:11 is a perfect example (although it seems like almost all of his reviews would illustrate this point): "(low register) Released 35 years ago in 1990, (high register) Tremors did well at the box office, (HIGHER register) but not as well as Universal was hoping." The rest of his sentences in this voiceover fluctuate A LOT between his low and high register, but he is never able to break out of this dumb flip-flop style of voiceover he does. Has anyone else noticed this shit?
