Why the FUCK isn't this movie talked about more? It's the most unsettling horror movie with a twisted and compelling story that I've ever seen. It beats the fuck out of Silence of the Lambs.

Decent attempt at bait but still not quite believable enough.

Because it has one of the worst last acts in all of horror films, It basically has a narrator explain everything that happens, there's no second interpretation. But I do agree, it was fairly unsettling but shit story.

it's really not all that unsettling of a movie. probably the most overhyped piece of shit but their marketing had this selling out theaters
>>
Shut up, fag.

The Blackcoat's Daughter and The Monkey are the only two good Oz Perkins flicks. The former is a genuinely atmospheric arthoe flick with cute actresses, the latter is a better Final Destination movie than any actual Final Destination movie and is very funny.
Gretel and Hansel is retarded and anachronistic (good soundtrack tho). I'm the pretty thing that lives in this house was interesting, borderline experimental, but the ending is so awkwardly staged it sours the entire experience. Longlegs is just slop, the whole film feels like Perkins is trying hard to appease the normalfags viewer by rushing through the plot points, which is odd because previously Perkins' whole schtick was that he actually goes full in on "bonechilling slowburn" thing, and Nic Cage gives a terrible performance, and not in a good way, he isn't entertaining in a campy way nor he is scary, that voice is annoying and cringe, the makeup is also arse.

it was good. ending was meh, but still good overall

It was overhyped and then turned out weak as fuck.
Watch more movies OP.

Maika Monroe is a cutie patootie.

It's fucking garbage just like Weapons. The people who like both of this trash are people I want nothing to do with. Go fuck yourself.

Yeah, the ending sucked and I find it hard to square Nic Cage and unsettling. It was a great performance, but having such a larger than life character in a movie that is trying to unsettle you with its mundane realism, that does not combine well.

Nah /tv/ put a end to this film real fucking quick
>>
MOOOOOOOMMY DAAADDDY!
>>
It was a poorly made film with a lot of awesome ideas and moments, a solid 6/10 that engrossed me
I loved it how the mother explained that she did it so that she and her daughter wouldn't burn in Hell

It hit VOD and that's it. They tore it apart

>there's no second interpretation
Why is this seen as a bad thing now? Does every movie need to leave room for 5 hour youtube video essays exploring possible meanings? Leaving everything open to interpretation is lazy storytelling and I wish we could get back to more movies actually explaining shit and not just "woooah guess we'll never know" handwaving.

/tv/ and current 4chins are occupied by mostly young adults (18-29), by a hodgepodge of race and culture, sadly none have the attention span required to enjoy kinos like longlegs
>>
Childrens' dolls are not scary, no matter how much these hack directors try to pretend they are.
>>
>>215669778
The only people I've met who liked Longlegs were zoomers who have barely seen any horror movies. Nice try though.
>>
>>215667996
It was shit, you had this build up of a seemingly unstoppable killer, wondering how he does what he does within the realm of possibility, only for it to turn out that it's just the devil or some shit, what a copout

Yuge "I've seen fifty movies, fifty is a big number" coming from this OP.
>>
>>215669579
The problem isn't a lack of interpretation, but that the director himself said in an interview that he didn't really give a shit about the story and the dialogue dump that reveals everything is pretty much all there is to it. The story seemed interesting at first but quickly turned out to be shallow and only existed to get us to the totally scary family massacre scenes
>>
>>215667996
I love Maika Monroe but playing the "DUDE QUIRKY SPECIAL AGENT" part was such a fucking waste of her. The movie as a whole just didn't live up to the sum of its parts, and when that happens the blame has to go on to the director.
>>
>>215667996
Unless it involves a giant spider monster, I'm not interested

Calm down, Jenny. This movie is not for you.

>modern horror movie
Let me guess, (white) men and white people are evil in some manner, they're in a cult that's some shitty vague metaphor for nazism, and minorities and white women are victims. All modern horror is trash made for Xitter feminazis to affirm their schizo political views so they clap along like monkeys
>>
>>215671085
No, but you have enough horror in your head, stick to a more lighthearted genre in your kinos.
