Maybe I'm media illiterate, but I don't get why Tom's the bad guy. It feels like in every rom com movie, women who want love and men who don't are seen as the problem but even when men do want love, they somehow still end up being the villains.
>>215691469wow i didn't know hothead was a cuck
>>215691469They were both the actual villain though.
The point of the movie is that they both are ultimately awful in their own ways. Tom hurting himself as much as he did was completely preventable. The idea of her he kept in his head was not reality and there were tons of signs for him to realize this. The movie is talked about all the time because it's a pretty common situation in real life. It was presented basically from the beginning that she wasn't going to be the lifelong love he wanted but he kept chasing for it and didn't want to see the truth, while enjoying all the small things in the short term.
>>215691508Calm down. He's just goofing around.
>>215691469You have to be retarded to think the movie has a villain in the first place
Tom helped summer to actually realize true love existSummer helped Tom shake off his naive mindset, and push him to pursue his architect dreams
The whole Manic Pixie genre needed to be taken down a peg. They were corny and had a whole generation of guys thinking they could fix a BPD girl with a little TLC and patience.

>>215691469Women are at war with themselves. They want to be controlled and led by men for biological reasons but they have been taught that being promiscuous and partying every week while you struggle to pay rent for your shitty apartment is what being free actually is all about so the programming is clashing with the indoctrination causing them to lash out at avatars of "oppression" such as men wanting to "tie them down" or father figures who want to tell them what to do.

>>215694720People always get feminism wrong. Feminism it's not women vs men, it's actual women vs women and the prize is men. They pretend women are allies but they are the first ones to boycott each others. My theory is boomer females saw the young generation as a threat so they started to brainwash them saying being married was le bad etc, obviously a 40yo boomer woman didn't want horny 18 years old girls around her husband. They saw women are free to choose, but if a girl decides to be a tradwife she will be attacked by all the females of her family and teachers.Zoomettes seem to be awakening since the more they see old movies and the old life the more they realise feminism is a scam.Notice how romance movies is always about a guy being in control.
>>215691553Why is Tom awful for that? She was the one who led him on and allowed for those fantasies to fester in the first place. Her saying she didn't want a relationship and then turn around and give him the gf experience is evil. Actions speaks louder than words, so you can't really blame the guy for developing feelings for her.

>>215693642Hey! He’s not a retard!
>>215691553Tom is not awful, you clown. He was just a naive cuck who never had a real girlfriend before. He got off easy in my opinion. I know tons of girls who would've took him for long painful ride.
>>215696110Women are evil.
>>215696203Thats called being awful. It makes you wander around attaching yourself to random women and developing codependencies and later blaming them for not loving you, as if it were their job to cut you off for your sake when you fear rejection in the first place. Basically you try this on dozens of girls and they’ll all mostly turn you down, but when you find the one that doesnt turn you down overtly, you latch on to them and blame women at large because by process of elimination you found one who could tolerate the presence of a cuck
>>215696256Holy cow you're projecting.
>>215694718Finally, somebody gets it. It's pretty funny that the screenwriter who based the story off of his own failed relationship doesn't realize that his real life girlfriend was cheating on him this whole time. I mean it's pretty strange that Tom was with summer for about ten months and never met any of her friends or family.
>>215695754No one hates women more than other women. They're incapable of true friendship with each other. If you're hanging out with a group, just mention a slight compliment about a girl who isn't there and watch how all the other women will start to tear her down "yeah, but she does xyz etc..." They have pitted themselves in a never ending social game against each other and friendships are just a fleeting piece of it
>>215696271>>215694718what the hell? Then why did she invite him to the engagement party? That's literally insane. >honey can I invite that guy I was cucking you with to the party?>sure babe, I'm cool with the guy who was inside you many of the same days I was being here
In relationship movies the man is always the bad guy and the woman never did anything wrong. The phrase "they were both the problem" is used by guys when they clearly think the girl was the problem but don't want to seem sexist, and by girls when the female character was so bad they need to act impartial or else they'll look like a lunatic (but only IRL, online they can post "she did nothing wrong" and get +100 likes). Never ever can it be stated that the male character was in the right.

>>215695939>Woman not taking accountability Of course. Women aren't stupid, they know what they're doing. She had to have known that Tom was developing feelings for her. What infuriates me is that she only got upset when it was too late. Once again you can't give someone the relationship fantasies and then get mad when they develop feelings. Words and actions aren't the samething so if she didn't want a relationship then she shouldn't have spent so much time with the guy which was only feeding him the idea of exclusivity. Couples do things together, this is a concept that every country in the world practices so no, it's not Tom's fault that he developed feelings and believed that a meaningful relationship was forming. Women are retarded.

Summer literally told Tom from the very beginning that she wasn't looking for a serious relationship. When Summer got bored of Tom and wanted to stop dating, Tom spazzed out and blamed Summer for basically being a manipulative whore who is happy acting like boyfriend-girlfriend and getting all the benefits of it without the actual "relationship" label, so she can bounce whenever she feels like it.And while Summer did do all that, the bag is still on Tom for being a naive sperg. She was simply doing what every single female on this planet does - kills their time with naive boys until she meets someone she wants to lock down. She was even nice enough to give Tom a heads up from the very start. t. exact same thing happened to me

It doesn't matter that movie made it obvious or not that their relationship wouldn't last, that's not what we're discussing about. Your original argument was about them both being awful and me disagreeing with that. From Tom's perspective it's hard to tell whether or not Summer was being serious with her words when her actions contradicted them. you can't say you don't want a relationship and then turn around and live out the relationship experience without the label and then get bored and use the "I told you I didn't want a relationship" excuse to get out of it.

>Tom was a villain because he was romantically inexperienced bloomerWomen are the worst.

I've never understood people that want to date, but say they don't want a serious relationship. It seems like a complete waste of time, energy, and emotions. Maybe it's just different for women because they get showered with attention and appreciation during the dating stage without ever having to face rejection or pay for dates.
>>215700345this is my life except my woman is probably considered ugly by a lot of anons on here but we have a ton in common and she makes a lot of money
>>215703692how many men have you had sex with in your life. I'm married with children by the way not an incel, and not the type to ever get a divorce
>>215704253>bitcoin millionairesnothing in this thread triggered me as much as that, I knew it was a good idea to invest back in like 2011ish and I wanted to but I didn't know how ( i was 16) and because I couldn't figure it out back then I missed out. I didn't have a ton saved but I could've invested like 4 grand
>>215704968same, the moment i was able to get a permanent woman I locked that shit down and wiped the sweat off my brow thanking god I'd never have to date again, shes the same way. The early stages of dating are incredibly shallow
>>215704253Those are high masking autists. Normal people didn't become Bitcoin millionaires.
>>215704567What part of 4chan are you on? I've only ever seen that sentiment in literal Bimbo threads and ironically usually while larping as a femcel that acts like an incel. this is you isn't it? Most Foreveralone posts tend to be either cheesy romantic bullshit a virgin would write or whatever flavor of stereotype they're infatuated with. Robots tend to hate Stacy Bimbos because they view them as both boring and sluts. Most fags on 4chan want a bro that they can fuck or an unitimidating but cute girl.>>215704968>WomenJust social people in general. Most normalfags aren't anxious about social outings, they enjoy them, dating and casual sex is fun especially if they don't think it's going to lead to some heavy emotional commitment.
>>215705723I'm pretty sure this is one anon in /tv/. I mean, the fact that there are multiple bimbo threads at any given time in the first place. I'm not a femcel, though. I try to encourage gestures of empathy and positivity where I see them.
>>215705857The Bimbo threads are mostly just porn threads, I see way more "cute girl does cute thing and causes massive bouts of pathetic yearning and sour grape seething"
>>215705723>dating and casual sex is fun especially if they don't think it's going to lead to some heavy emotional commitment.I can understand the casual sex aspect, but you don't really need to date to achieve that. However, I can't understand the dating aspect. It is fun to go on dates and spend a lot of time with someone new. What's fun about it is getting to know someone you're interested in and experiencing fun things together all while seeing just how compatible you are and if you could have a good life together. That excitement isn't there if you already know going into it that you only want it to be temporary. Otherwise it just seems like going out with a friend, but with a greater possibility of having sex.
>>215693302do manic pixie BPD chicks have good pussy though??
