I'm 30 minutes in and bored out of my mind.
When does it get good?
>>
>>215700203
never, it's complete shit like all the movies by this director
>>
>>215700203
stick with marvel movies
>>
>>215700203
It’s literally “DUDE ACID!” the movie. There isn’t much to understand

I decided to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire instead
>>
>>215700408
>Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
That one's also fine. Mandy is a movie for drug addict midwit types with a retro fetish.
>>
>>215700346
actually kino
>>
>>215700647
If by "retro" you mean a classic story about a white guy avenging the death of his family which used to be a staple among action movies until people like you started wanting something more "cerebral" and subversive, then yes it's for people with a retro fetish.
>>
>>215701237
It's literally about toxic masculinity, and in a real numb way. Retro, as in relying on those shitty aesthetics.
>>
>>215700346
Heard Rich Evan's voice and immediately stood up and yelled "OH MY GOD!"
>>
>>215701284
>It's literally about toxic masculinity
brainlet take, maybe some female movie critic said that, in reality the cult leader doesn't have any masculine traits, quite the opposite.
>>
>>215700203
Do like I did and put the play speed on x4 until a very specific moment. You'll know when it comes.
After that you can watch the rest on x1, it's better
>>
>>215701296
>googled that name
>made me reconsider stance on eugenics
Fuck's sake.
>>
>>215701365
Keep coping.
>>
>>215701408
Good post, now leave this thread in shame.
>>
When the bottle of Robotussin you were supposed to drink before the movie started kicks in
>>
>>215701446
Nigga, your entire existence is shame. That's why you like this numale garbage movie about tough beardy guy taking down evil toxic white man church cult. Go impale yourself on a dildo or something.
>>
>>215700203
>When does it get good?
It doesn't. The first half hour is the good bit.
>>
>>215701518
>t-the villain is a white guy, that's woke!
Do you have a problem with Commando too?

>b-but Bennet is a white army man that means you should hate white masculine men!
>>
>>215700203
Guy gets revenge on cult weirdos, kool aid colors, the end
>>
This movie had bad pacing, plotting and editing problems that completely stole the film's energy. Too many bad scenes in the mix. The best fight was in the middle. The most interesting antagonists were the secondary ones.
Some of the weirdness in their domestic life in the beginning tipped the movie's hand too early.
The psychedelica was handled very well.
As far as performances go, it's just a case of if you still find Nic Cage freakouts to be interesting. If you do, it's good and takes up enough space in the flick.
If you don't the film takes one more big step towards a misfire.
>>
>>215700203
Maybe movies just aren't for you. Have you tried tik tok at all?
>>
>>215701917
Zoomers were a mistake.
>>
>>215701284
holy bait..

>I prefer the clear cut exposition of a Quentin Tarantino as well. Gnostic allegory B-movies are a dime a dozen, however good they look.
>>
>>215702020
There's no movie that can't be argued as a gnostic allegory because it's slop
Paddington Bear 2 is a gnostic allegory
Throat Fuckers 14 is a gnostic allegory
This post you are reading is a gnostic allegory
>>
>>215701981
Agreed. How does a group of people obsessed with over analyzing everything always have such brainless takes.
>>
>>215700203
I was so drugged up, I think when the acid dealer and the tiger shows up.. btw it's fucking amaze balls, no wonder you can see it being straight.
>>
>>215700203
It’s not for you
I’m not throwing shade or dunking on you or even clapping back
But not every film is for every viewer and this movie just isn’t for you.
>>
>>215700203
>When does it get good?
At the beginning, when you're listening to King Crimson
>>
>>215700346
Wish this nigga would get proper cinematography
I liked his garbage pail kids flick (whatever it’s called). But it looked so cheap. Not the special effects but the entire film looked like a Nickelodeon show from early 2000s
If you want to do an 80s retro film it should LOOK like it
>>
>>215700203
Its a long boring set up for revenge, but the kills aren't that interesting. Its a very nice visual and audio movie but its story sucks and its action is boring.
>>
>>215700203
One of my all time favorites. One of the few movies who builds atmosphere so dense you feel engulfed. /tv/ will always shit on it because they have never loved nor experienced another realm of reality.
>>
>>215700203
It doesn't. It's hipster trash
>>
>>215703205
>/tv/ will always shit on it because they have never loved nor experienced getting a rectal reaming.
ftfy
>>
>>215700203
The first hour is really slow, then it goes completely batshit.
>>
>>215704644
The first hour is completely hypnotic, when Mandy is introduced to Sand it's one of the best representations of being under the influence of hallucinogens ever. When her face starts to transpose over his and back is kino. The second half sacrifices some of the mood at times
