Marvel was sort of fun when it first got started, up thru the first Avengers or so, but it was just too sprawling and convoluted and they made too many damn movies and shows and I just didn't care about it nearly enough to keep up with itI'd also say that the Marvel movies really took "corporate designed slop" to a whole different level. People have been saying that about big studio movies for decades, but in the Harry Potter era they still seemed to believe that they at least had to TRY to make something that audiences would actually enjoy. Marvel really ushered in the era of studio heads realizing that a brand-name alone would sell tickets whether or not any care or effort was put into the quality of the film. Like they clearly were trying to make good films when they first started out, but after a "phase" or two it became clear that quality filmmaking was an unnecessary expense
