First episode was good. Actually explaining the premise instead of doing endless 'oops nothing happens lol' episodes of mystery farming was a breath of fresh air. However the second episode is where it all went to shit, the other survivors being retarded brown third worlders was funny as fuck, but seeing as Vince is a libshit, he definitely did not mean for it to be funny and them being retarded was just awful writing. It's really tonally weird. It has that slapstick visual style Bravo Vince had in BrBa and BCS but this time the concept of the show is existential on a global scale so I don't find the hijinks appropriate. Especially since he takes it very seriously one second and then it's some visual gag or funny line the next.
Having said that if it was humorless it would likely be an automatic dud, since it otherwise seems dreadfully boring and stock.

Basically the only way the show can be salvaged is to lean into some bizarre twists and turns, but looks like it's just going to be Carol outraged by the lemmingness of everyone over and over.

There's another way of looking at things.
It is possible all the "survivors" are also a part of the hivemind and playing their parts because the hivemind needs to mindfuck Carol somehow. So it's all a game of pretend.
Even the numbers of dead are impossible for Carol to confirm first-hand. The hivemind said X amount of people died, how would Carol know this is truthful? How would Carol know if there are any holdouts with more "survivors" It's impossible to tell.
Legitimately anything the hivemind says, or any of the other survivors say is suspect since you can't independently confirm anything.

My take on it is that the way this alien society type works is the hive mind obeys the leaders, and Carol is a leader because the way the virus works is it ensures there are immune members that then control the rest of the population, who are extremely obedient. Aliens figured out this is the most efficient model of society and have exported it to Earth.
Maybe the virus spares a control group of leaders, and then based on that first filtering the survivors then further get assimilated (since some of them might end up retarded npcs) so the one left standing is the "queen bee" of the entire planet.
