Alright bros, let me divulge some post-Jon Grumps lore on their rise and fall for you guys given an anon asked.After Jon left, GG carried on surprisingly well without him. Arin's scheme to expand the scope and content of the channel by turning it into a brand in and of itself was intitially successful. He didn't just bring in Dan and keep Barry, but he also brought on Ross, Kyle, Suzie, and Brian (the Ninja in NSP). The retro game tendency actually expanded under Dan given he's an oldfag Millennial on the bubble of Gen-X, and a lot of older PC and arcade games from the 80s were played on the channel alongside popular games (usually nintendo, playstation, or sega stuff) as well as Jap shitpost games they stumbled upon (Devil's Third being one of the best examples). They started hosting a tabletop series called table flip, where they'd do interviews with either other Newgrounds guys like Oney, Cory, Stamper, etc or big Youtubers like Sparklez, Jack, Mark, etc. They'd also have Ross, Brian, and Barry play indie games on a kino series called Steam Train; and animations would be posted directly on the channel too. The content of the channel blossomed, growth boomed, and it had pretty much something for everyone during this time, so everyone watched even more than when Jon was on (nearly all of their most popular vids are from this time). Eventually, Arin started setting his sights on bigger things: he tried to get a /tv/ series off the ground on YT Red called Good Game in 2017 (it flopped like everything else there, but I heard alongside the MatPat show that it was one of the better turds in that bowl), and he also developed the first game under the GG brand called Dream Daddy (a tumblrized "parody" of dating sims centered around middle aged Bara fags). This game was pretty much what fucked the Grumps in the eyes of the internet due to a super convoluted series of events that led to Grumps staff doxxing Ding Dong for shitting on the game and outing him to his pt.1

They temporarily halted this by getting the Supermega guys on in 2018 to smooth everything out for them, which was fairly successful and popular given they hadn't become cancerous faggots yet (that wouldn't happen for them until ~2020, but that's a tangent). They brought the Grumps some much-needed edge, and had some great edits and series that helped them put the Dream Daddy stuff behind them.2019 after they leave is really where it all falls apart for the Grumps tough. Matt and Ryan left to focus on SuperMega again given their channel finally got traction again, so they got yet another editor now that they were gone. They got some megaschizo from the depths of /b/ named Ben as their new editor. Not only were his edits obnoxious and abrasive, they were often shitty and completely fucked with the videos (not to mention the videos themselves were weren't funny given Arin was becoming a prude). However, the real bombs dropped when it was revealed the guy had an extreme sexual fixation on Jacob Sartorius and even stalked him irl
