As a space nerd there's many scenes that make zero sense and there's no reason for them to be so bad (like stopping half-way to Mars to rendezvous with that ape-ship), but I still really enjoyed the movie.It's just a pity they could've done so much better.

I liked this film. Maybe it's because I have a cold, emotionally distant father, but it hit me like a bag of bricks.
I find it more palatable than Apocalypse Now honestly.

>>215996840Another reason: if the skirmishes the pirates get into tend to be as suicidal as the one in the movie, where most of the participants got shot and only one rover escaped, then you would burn through people and hardware very quickly. You are isolated on the moon and can't get more people and supplies up there very easily. It's not a sustainable way of living
