I've only read the first 2 books and the wiki a bunch. Ender's game and enders shadow took over along with dark intelligence telligence and the quantum thief. Getting started on the 3rd is taking a hurcelean effort.

The problems with all the adaptations so far is none of them make me want to live on dune. It’s supposed to be like bamyian in the populated places and Saudi Arabia and Oman/Yemen the rest. Yet it it’s just Moroccan long desert shots of just sand. Tatooine looks way cooler than Dune even though it’s filmed probably in the same area. Unironically the worm being a land shark is why the planet is fundamentally uninteresting and featureless since muh worm god has to be present everywhere. These settings always take second fiddle in these cgi heavy movies because they want to be flexible during editing so they are always zooming in on actors faces.It’s like there isnt as much as a foothill for these characters to climb during their epic journey. They’re always just appearing wherever they have to be to plot out their plan without a risk of being late. Imposing navigation on characters makes settings believable and also the character relatable through movement, which was absent through the featureless setting presented in dune out of thematic negligence
