Momoa does have some acting chops. remember he was fairly subdued for his role as Not-Mongol Man in GoT.The issue isn't him being able to pull it off it's Nintendo going for the goofy villain a la Bowser. While Bowser makes more sense to be a bit of a goofball, Ganondorf has to be played straight or else there will be no real tension to the film or no real stakes.
