name a 60s movie that has aged better than this or TGTBATUyou can't, don't even try
>>2160020592001.
Rosemary's Baby
>>216002073wrong>>216002084this is a close third though
High and LowMarketa LazarovaThe Wild BunchLawrence of Arabia
The Wild Bunch is better and had much more of an impact on cinema. John Woo owes his career to Peckinpah.
>>216002189>>216002073
>>216002386I'm not talking about impact on filmI'm talking about watchability in current year for non film-autists
>>216002444Well in that case The Wild Bunch is a lot more watchable and realistic in current year than Leone's weird fever dream westerns.
>>216002512realistic =/= watchable
>>216002059HAHAHA this film is nuts! It starts out with a cowboy but he's BLACK! HAHAHAHAHAHA! A black cowboy, crazy! Then the other cowboy, he has a googly eye and there's like a 15 minute closeup of his ugly face WITH A FLY ON IT! Can you even imagine having a fly ON YOUR FACE?! After another 15 minutes he tries to blow the fly off his face but it won't leave, THE FLY JUST SITS ON HIS FACE FOREVER! HAHAHAHAHA! There's more, when he swats the fly off his face HE CATCHES IT IN HIS GUN! HOLY SHIT! Man, I was freaking out HAHAHA!Get this, in America the dumb directors would make this a 90 minute flick but it's EUROPEAN so they drag out every poorly shot scene until the movie is TWICE AS LONG! HAHAHHAHA, don't miss this classic "Spaghetti Western", they call it that because it's made in Spain, which looks absolutely nothing like the place the story is set! HAHAHAHA WHAT A CRAZY MOVIE!
>>216002059What does it mean that it aged well?>>216002113>>216002084Rosemary's Baby has aged well? I mean, I'm not even commenting on its quality as a movie (it sucks), but the idea that it's aged well against other films from that decade? Absurd. It's totally a product of its time.>>216002444>non film autistsWhat does that mean? People who don't have taste? The Wild Bunch is more watchable and it's a better movie.
>>216002611>>Get this, in America the dumb directors would make this a 90 minute flick but it's EUROPEAN Actually this movie is American not Italian like the previous dollar trilogy. Sergio Leone is Italian but it was produced entirely by Paramount and filmed almost entirely in Utah and Arizona. Also Claudia Cardinale and Mr. Choo Choo are the only Italian actors in it.
>>216002548You are a fucking moron if you are serious. Peckinpah shit's all over anyone not named John Ford and he shits on most of his stuff, too.
>>216002548The Wild Bunch has aged better than Leone's quasi-mystical, fairy tale westerns.
>>216002746>>216002657>>216002621no one is stopping you from watching the wild bunch or gay porn if you're into that. we just don't care to hear about it
>>216002778>name a 60's movie that aged better than my le reddit movie>No, not like that!
>>216002656HAHAHAHA! This movie is like a Super American "SPAGHETTI WESTERN" made entirely by EUROPEANS which makes it Super American! What a crazy movie!
>>216002778>weWho? You just had three or four anons tell you The Wild Bunch has aged better than OUATITW and TGTBATU. Where is this "we" you speak of?
>>216002791>"don't even try">tries and failsI warned you
>>216002931>le reddit can't prove me wrongYou have basic bitch taste.
Psycho has aged very well. Its critique of gay incels with mommy issues who cross dress is more relevant to the current cultural zeitgeist than it ever was.
>>216002930>three or four anonsyou are fooling no one
>>216003039There's at least two of us.
>Dr Strangelove
>>216002444So why ask which has dated better, when what you mean is what is the most compulsively watchable film of 60's?
>>216002059Jerry Lewis' The Ladies Man (1961)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua4suRfdbWU
>>216003515>"don't even try">tries and failsI warned you
>>216002059Come Drink With Me
Le Samourai
>>216003843Movie about the samurai and it's about some white guy. This hasn't aged well, my guy.
>>216003860Can you explain what "aged well" means to you?
>>216003925A movie that reflects the values of our day, while still being entertaining by today's standards.
>>216002059>TGTBATUwat
>>216002548Once upon is so boring, the pacing feels very dated. The wild bunch is a breeze in comparison, you are just an obtuse retard. It does have the best title song of any movie ever though
>>216003943>the values of our day
>>216002059
Guys, OP already gave up.
>>216004014I put on the Wild Bunch for some normie friends with normie tastes and they all loved it. They were blown away a movie from 1969 still felt fresh. They compared it to Tarantino.
I put on Last Year at Marienbad for some normie friends and they all loved it. They were blown away that a film from 1961 still felt fresh. They compared it to the time I kidnapped them and forced them to watch Last Year at Marienbad.
>>216004372I never saw that. Is it aged well like The Wild Bunch?
>>216002621This album has not aged well. It's so 90s. But it's kino
>>216002084Rosemary's Baby still feels fresh today. Maybe the ending is a little hokey but that's because it's supposed to be kind of comedic and surreal anyways (Ninth Gate by Polanski is directed in the same way). The movie is overall fucking fantastic
>>216004588https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cRIYKj0HtQBetter. This movie fucks.
>>216002084The final scene in that movie is unintentionally hysterical.I'd say it's aged like a motherfucker.
>>216005205Rosemary's Baby sucks, and I have no idea how you people define "dated" because that movie is such a product of the 60's, right down to the way it apes a daytime soap.
>>216005260>this movie fucksThis is why your life is already over, stlaker. Enjoy prison.
>>216005293It's consistently regarded as one of the best movies ever and still well-liked by today's younger viewers who generally hate any movie made before Jaws. You don't know what you're talking about
>>216005326Teenagers tend to like Polanski. No surprise there. Again, I just have to question what you think dated means. If you think it means a film that doesn't play well with young audiences, then you're wrong.
>>216005353If it stands the test of time then by definition it is not dated. Pride and Prejudice is 200 years old and its old English and customs doesn't prevent it from being read today.
>>216005426Again, I question your definition of the word dated. You seem to think it's a qualitative word, and that if people still watch these films then they are not dated, or that if a film stands the test of time, then it can't be dated in any way. It's not accurate. As a counter example, I'll offer Beyond the Valley of the Dolls - unlike Rosemary's Baby (which sucks), I think Beyond is a great film. In spite of that however, it's also a very dated film.
