Why didn't he trust Lem?
Boyd did our boy dirty
The first episode of the Shield was so exciting that it took almost three seasons for me to realize I wasn't enjoying it and the show was endlessly spinning its wheels.
>>216004127lem was the weak link
>>216004354The seasons were pretty long and it did stretch a ton of plot stuff out. But this included 2 unrelated multi episode story arcs about elderly sex

>>216004478Spot on!
the music that plays during recaps reminds me of menu music in early 2000s action games>>216004137should i watch justified after i finish the shield or should i watch deadwood first?
>>216004360lem is the moral center of the group
>>216004127He's a coward
>>216004360But he always put bros before popos. Ronnie was the ultimate soldier just doing as he was told since outside of the burnt face thing he always came out of every Vic scheme better off. Shane was the weak link all along
So since Vic would have eventually killed Lem how do you think he would have done it?
>>216005568Don't re-write the show. Everything that happened from S1 on led to Lem's death and Vic was responsible.
>>216005731I just mean Vic lies to himself that he would never have done it but we all know the truth
>>216004127Lem, like Ronnie, actually thought Vic was their friend. Shane, for better or worse, realized Lem would slip and say the wrong thing and Vic would make the decision to kill him. So he did the deed himself, not expecting Vic to be a moral fag ironically enough BECAUSE by killing Lem himself, Shane basically created a fair accompli situation where Vic would never have to admit to himself that he would have done the same thing
>>216005731they would have gotten away with it without robbing the money train
Whats this hairline called? Im balding so I will rock that soon
>>216004127Shane was right not to trust Lem and Vic was a fucking hypocrite for sperging out over it
PISS
>>216004127Lem was talking to Becca for an alternative deal, sure he didn't want the strike team to get caught but that was the first time he was planning to do something else without the group's knowledge for himself. This gets clearer when he rejects going to México, Shane did what it seemed like the best option at the time, and Vic acknowledges this eventually.>>216004354So you dropped it right before it became one of the best series of all time with seasons 4 and 5. However if you weren't enjoying the early seasons then this show just isn't for you, although you loving the pilot makes me think you didn't watch it or just weren't that interested later.>>216004431Season 3 is the only too long one.>>216004907Lem was strong and Shane is a coward!
>>216006524i got that going on now. it's called balding middle aged guy, i think.
>>216004354Season 3 is the problem. It goes nowhere and it is hands down the worst part of the series. Trust me, I know I thought the same thing you did (It's still one of my favorite series) but then I realized that it was just because the 3rd season is just slow and feels like it goes nowhere besides setting the groundwork for The Strike Team's relationship and distance after the money train. It doesn't help that the 4th season starts off slow (it's still great). I think the 3rd season just screws up the overall pace of the series and just kind of sucks. Honestly I would just keep watching because it does get better.
>>216005980I honestly don't think he would have killed Lem. Maybe throw him under the bus like Ronnie but not kill him. He let Shane live when he almost put a hit out on him and even when his family was involved. He would have tried to make it work until he had no choice but to fold his cards, like he does in the end.
>>216008880Season 3 got the writers team burned out. It's the longest season of the show and they had to rewrite and drop a lot of discarded ideas (Tavon as a new member of the strike team, Lauren's whole character, Dutch downloading kiddy porn and killing a cat). Surprisingly one of the few that got fleshed out during the season and even later on the show was Aceveda's rape. Season 4 in the other hand was a lot more grounded and felt better planned, sure it can be slower and not as action packed as others, but the writing was top notch and the best of the series until that moment.
