This movie along with Joker 2 is about subverting your expectations the only thing missing from this movie is Luke being raped or turning evil his character was humiliated and his entire legacy was stolen by a random girl the difference is that Joker 2 is an Elseworlds story while the Last Jedi is Canon
>>
I didn't want my expectations subverted.

>OP didn’t realise what the subtext was when old Luke stepped into Ben’s bedroom while the young man was vulnerable and asleep.

elseworlds to what there is no main batman movie continuity

>still seething about TLJ
It's the only not complete dogshit sequel movie.

It's sad that a vocal minority of retards like OP have given Star Wars fans such a bad name. Failing to understand that all these problems stem directly from TFA allows people like JJ Abrams to get away with it time and time again.

Congratulations, you're not a shabbos goy

The whole subverted expectations was so bizarre because it would subvert your expectations but then revert them later. For example, "look the ancient Jedi texts have been burned, showing that the force was never really about books or knowledge but actually feelings! Except the books aren't actually burned either because Rey took them with her on the millennium falcon."
Or
"Kylo is evil and going to kill Rey. But look! He kills Snoke instead! Except Kylo is still evil and still going to kill Rey."
It was honestly exhausting.

Kylo killing Snoke and solidifying his place as the archvillain had potential but then he's right back where he started for Palpatine.

Did it really have potential though? Kylo was the best thing about the sequel trilogy, but was there really anything that made sense for him to be a big bad villain?
