I really loved the aesthetic of the OG cards as a kid. As the cards went more generically anime (or when the first show ended), I basically stopped caring completely about Yu Gi Oh.

He was even cooler because back then most cards didn't have effects or if they did it was short and to the point like "destroy a spell card". Then you slap this fucker on the table and your opponent has to get out their reading glasses to understand everything it does.
