I watched this for the first time a few weeks ago...

God damn they don't make movies like this anymore. Amazingly fun movie, and Sanda Bullock is incredibly hot in it.

I don't understand why the movie is full of cursing and violence, even severing an eye, but zero blood or gore outside of that. People get shot and puffs of smoke comes out, it's wierd.

The MPAA is run by literal retards with vague guidelines they refuse to explain. Killer Joe got NC-17 rating (a death sentence in cinemas) despite several goreshlock films that year got away with an R. When the director asked what the fuck that was all about, the ratings board said that the violence was ''mean spirited''.
