If you remember up until the mid 2010s acting on TV, outside of cameos in TV shows like friends was seen as a step down in the acting craft where hollywood was seen as the pinnacle.
Like there is a hierarchy in acting where hollywood (or own country comparison) is seen as the top and the low is like pantomine.
Basically movies, indie/B/TV/direct to DVD movies > TV > theatre
With other things mixed in the hierarchy, like adverts, mini series etc.

If you are asking about hedlund from the last thread, idk his decesions but some actors want to act in roles they choose rather than roles for a pay day. Some are thespians who want challenging roles, some want easy roles they can ham it in, some dont actually want to get big.
