Don't think this is super well known but any other fans here? Re-watched it for Noirvember. I really enjoy Sinatra in this one. It's unusual for him but he makes a great psycho. I usually watch it with The Manchurian Candidate as a companion piece. Any other recommendations for short (sub 1:30) noirs? I've got Gun Crazy and Pick Up On South Street in the queue as well.
Bump

>>216019287i saw this in a cinema about ten years ago it is not a very good movie but as you mentioned franks performance is very entertaining. it was a double feature with a movie starring edward g robinson based on la chienne that was very good though i have forgotten the title.
Detour. I just don't like Sinatra's acting. Just a wiseguy
>>216020778Gg thanks for the recs>>216020845>starring edward g robinson based on la chienneScarlet Street
Born To Kill is pretty good and stars Lawrence Tierney aka Old Joe from Reservoir Dogs
>>216022375also Sinatra is a good actor but my favorite is Pal Joey, which is about as far from noir as you can get
Is there a site to stream these?I'm probably better off torrenting but I'm too lazy for that these days
>>216019287This is a fantastic piece of noir entertainment, Frank steals the show. This has been public domain for a while, I remember getting the DVD for 99 cents in a cardboard sleeve in the grocery store around 2000.The way Frank says "I was good at choppin" still holds up. That's all he was ever good at, killing with a rifle. Love the over the top one- liners from Sterling H, wooden as usual and the grandfather, but that makes the genre.Films had a great cadence back then.
