In the 1964 film Mary Poppins, one of the children the early 20th century magical nanny takes care of is a boy by the name of Michael Banks. That movie ends in a good way, where the family becomes closer and happier. However.
It’s highly likely that just a mere decade later, Michael would be drafted to fight for the British Army in World War 1 in the trenches

What other films have off screen implications like this?

its really kind of crazy to think that WW1 and WW2 were only 21 years apart.

so maybe they all died when london got bombed. unless that witch from Bedknobs and Broomsticks flew in and saved them
>>
The actor who played Michael died from hepatitis aged 21.

his dad was a banker, he was rich, he would have been educated, he would have been an officer probably see zero action.
anyway that doesn't count, you could fucking say that about any movie with humans in. the character was mortal and therefore one day would die. fuck off.

Because the movie is a happy go lucky one, wholesome, etc
And then WW1 was one of the worst wars in history
You really needed that spelled out to you, huh

Dying of old age isn’t the same as being in WW1
That’s a reach, and not even a smart one

Every character from every movie is going to get old and die anyway. Just enjoy the happy ending and be happy for once

Watching films like this makes you realise how fucked we are. Armed uk cops with machine guns arresting people for thought crimes, druggies in pyjamas shuffling around, stinky Indians crashing trucks, little girls beheaded, tranny mutilation of children, London 30% white.

It’s actually insane when you take a step back and think about it.

The level of evil and normalisation of it has become so profound. Looking back at how…normal and good people were makes me so sad. Not saying that they didn’t have their problems, but it felt like there was…hope. A sense of goodness and morality. People strived to be civilised and good. White culture really was incredible. God help the youth. They have no idea what they were robbed of.

In Home Alone 2, Macaulay Culkin has a fun wholesome time in New York. Little did he know that just a decade later, them slags would fly planes into the twin towers.
