Why are great movies flopping these days?
>>
times you acted like the smashing machine?
>>
I was a smashing machine, but then I learned to become a better man.
>>
I actually watched Better Man recently and it's a great movie with good music. Sad it didn't do better but nobody knows who the fuck the main guy is.

Really? Robbie Williams was played everywhere from 2000-2010. He was as big as Michael Jackson.
>>
>>216028407
never heard of the one on the left except in memes
>>
>>216028489
I liked Flubber but he really peaked in the 80s.

He was everywhere in the UK. He never got over in the States. We had our own Pop Idol winners to feign interest in.

Babylon was another one. I really loved that one.

The Smashing Machine is the Rock and Emily Blount swinging for the fences to the point that it feels like a parody of Oscar bait. The best performance in the entire film is Ryan Bader as Mark Coleman because he's the only person who sounds natural. Even Bas Rutten comes across as forced and he's playing as himself.

>Yeah, I totally haven't heard about this artist who had multiple #1 hits and sold 75 million albums

literally the only place he didn't catch on was the US. In fact he lives in the US solely because people don't recognize him here. This is despite the fact MTV tried pushing him really hard.

This was better than Whiplash

If you're going for natural then okay, I get not liking Rock/Blunt though I thought the performances were incredible but Ras Butten is a natural in this movie.
>>
Why was he a monkey though
>>
>>216029908
It was some weird Hollywood trend. Pharrell tried to do the same thing by being a legoman.
>>
I'm 27 and learned of Robbie Williams because of this movie.
>>
>>216030031
I'm 29 and knew of him and I'm an amerifat but I also admit I'm more interested in British Pop music in general, or at least their music from the 70s to mid 2000s.
