It's not as incompetent or as lazy as the ones that came after, and it at least tried to do its own thing relative to later sequels. I appreciate that they used a new character rather than recast Kevin too, however...Home Alone 1+2 are just leagues better. They have better villains, better traps, better cinematography pretty much everything. Even if Home Alone 2 is a complete rehash sequel the execution, production and scale are just better than 3.I owned the first 3 Home Alones on vhs as a kid too, so I'm not just blindly favouring 1/2 from nostalgia. I saw them all around the same time.
