Why can't we just bring back the dark cool shows from when we were kids?
>>
>>216032263
Those shows are aimed at two different age groups
>>
>>216032263
>Batman Beyond
>target audience: 12 year olds
>Bluey
>target audience: 2-5 year olds

The Bluey equivalent from 2000 would've been like Blue's Clues or Dora the Explorer.
>>
>>216032363
>>Batman Beyond
>>target audience: 12 year olds
I watched it when I was 6 yo. The intro, the music, the atmosphere, the action, the characters, etc. all was amazing.

How parents can be so fag with the stuff they allow / not allow to watch to their kids?
>>
>>216032276
>>216032363
Yeah, but the issue is that there's no more shows for the same older target audience as Batman Beyond. That's the issue.
>>
Bluey is literally for toddlers to first graders.
Batman Beyond was for like 7+
>>
kids don't even watch tv, OP. your fake outrage is outdated.
>>
>>216032263
Because they want to destroy everything of quality in the world.
>>
>>216032263
Target age range for something like Batman Beyond is too narrow for shareholders to invest into.
>>
>>216032572
I was watching Batman TAS when I was 3-4 years old and absolutely loved it.
TV shows isn't the only thing being sterilized to shit for kids. Look what they did to playgrounds.
>>
>>216032263
Boomers shitted and sharted their pants over cartoon violence until it was completely toddlerized
>>
>>216032263
Shows like batman and such were all 30 minute long adverts to sell action figures/toys to kids. Kids don't play with toys anymore so there's no reason to invest in those shows anymore.
>>
>>216032502
>How parents can be so fag with the stuff they allow / not allow to watch to their kids?
But who said they are like that today? I also always loved shows that were aimed towards older kids than my age and I felt insulted whenever something too childish came on screen, but some kids are like that now still. Hell, it's even easier for them to access basically anything. Some parents are strict about it, others care less about it, but that was the case then and now.
>>
>>216032263
just read the comics bro. Terry got a new limited series started last week. Batman/Static: Beyond.
>>
I've been increasingly hearing the opinion that being attracted to early 20s is pedophilic. These people believe 18 year olds can vote, but they can't date someone in their 30s.
>>
>>216032694
this and also "gentle parenting"
>>
Bluey is based af though, and I wish I had a show like that when I was 4 years old.
>>
>>216032502
Bluey is a show designed to teach tiny kids to not be autistic and to use the toilet properly and shit man.
You'd have to actually be retarded to genuinely try and compare it to any iteration of batman
>>
>>216032830
This. We had retarded things like Teletubbies and Caillou, Bluey is actually genuinely good
>t. parent.
>>
>>216032694
>>216032814
You retards don't have children and never will because you spend 90% of your time malding about retarded culture war faggotry on a board full of incels.
>>
>>216032263
My 1 year old loves bluey. That’s the audience
>>
>>216032896
Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed
>>
>>216032852
So you're saying that op's parents should have made him watch bluey so he wouldnt become the autistic manchild he clearly is?
>>
>>216032896
I spend 99% of my time on this board shitposting thank you very much you disingenuous prick.
>>
Bluey is seriously the most disgusting propaganda crap I've seen, the way it disguises many adult themes is fucking disgusting and pretty obvious.
>>
>>216032263
>complains about infantilization fatigue
>talking about kids show as an adult
>>
>>216032363
It's more like Rugrats. Baby show with interesting parent characters.
>>
>>216033300
Interesting how? The dad is a major cuck that gets uppity once in a while and the mother is annoying as fuck.
>>
>>216032852
>Bluey is the most profitable and watched show in 2025
>even adults watch it
OP has a point in how bad things are currently.
>>
>>216032896
>complains about anons malding
>proceeds to do it himself
not a good look lil "bro"
>>
>>216032502
>>216032694
And I watched porn when I was 8 year olds because it was on German TV, do you think I was the audience for it?
>>
>>216032263
Why? They still exist, your kids can watch them. You DO have kids, right, anon?
>>
>>216033382
it's a show for your average jew
>>
pretty retarded argument to compare a toddler show to a more general audience show like BB./ but chances are kids are not watching cable, and both shows are readily accessible, show just show them Batman beyond
>>
>>216032558
That's simply not true.
>>
>>216033575
No because porn has no audience, it's just blatantly sinful content.
>>
Then. Parents have to make sure the kids aren't watching violence.
Now. Parents have to make sure the kids aren't watching LGBT propaganda.
>>
>>216032263
Holy cherry picking
>>
>>216033627
I'm the cool uncle, I would be a terrible father.
And I know that the shows still can be watched, the problem is that I don't want the bad shows influencing my nephews.
>>
>>216033821
>Then. Parents have to make sure the kids aren't watching violence.
OP here, since I was kid I never understand this, violence is part of reality. Movement, change are violent, trying to supress that from reality is not good for kids, then they grow up and reality gives them a "reality-check" and they don't know how to react.
>>
>>216032852
You're ignoring the point, which is that Bluey is all kids have now. There is no gritty, edgy, cool content for kids to watch anymore.
>>
>>216034898
There was never any edgy, gritty, cool content made for 1-4 years old toddlers. It was never a thing. Saying "hurr my parents let me watch shows for 8+ years old when I was try" doesn't change the fact it wasn't made for 3 years old kids. Bluey is for toddlers. Compare it to Teletubbies if you want a fair comparison.
>>
>>216034898
they can watch some shonen shit or just watch old stuff like Batman
>>
>>216034928
when I was three*
>>
>>216034928
If Bluey is an analogue for Teletubbies then what is today's analogue for Batman Beyond?
>>
>>216032558
all those kids in the BB target demographic are either watching skibidi circus tiktok brainrot or anime
the cartoons airing today that are designed for that age range are being made for and made by sad lesbian women
the only action cartoons I hear about now are vulgar manchild cartoons like invincible.
the age of cool action cartoons are dead
>>
>>216034992
Not to be a doomer, but honestly "cool" seems to have died in general.
I only find it in very niche places.
>>
>>216032263
because of the compartmentalization of media. you don't get "family entertainment" that's appropriate for children but still has writing/performances older kids or even adults can enjoy because everyone has their own TV/streaming device in their room/hand. there's no need to make serialized media with broad appeal, you just zero in on a niche and pander with no regard for other demographics.
>>
>>216033809
Then sinners is the target audience for porn
>>
>>216035034
this. when did it become acceptable to be an anime kid.
>>
>>216035064
(and of course it doesn't work, which is why Bluey, which everyone at least tolerates, is now the most popular show)
>>
>>216032558
Aren't there a billion marvel shows on right now?
>>
>>216035064
God do you spend all day huffing farts and gazing at your navel?
>>
>>216035172
>>
>>216034972
It's a different topic altogether. What's today's analogue to Breaking Bad? Or the Sopranos? You can argue there's no edgy cool content for 7-14 years old, I probably wouldn't argue against it. But shitting on Bluey as an example of what to do wrong is dishonest, Bluey is a genuinely great show and most toddler shows could learn a lot from it.
>>
>>216035219
>What's today's analogue to Breaking Bad?
Ozark
>Or the Sopranos?
The Penguin
>>
>>216032572
>7+
Was it really that low? I assumed BB was for teens
>>
>>216033686
Name one modern WESTERN cartoon for teenage audiences, then

Why are zoomers putting "slop" and "fatigue" at the end of everything now? The only fatigue I have is for this kind of lingo.
>>
>>216032263

I don´t think that´s the right example but i understand what you mean. Darkness aside the offer used to be far wider for both age segments.

>>216032733

True enough but it is also true that animation shows were far more creative in the 80´s and 90´s (even if half the shows were borderline plagiarism from other shows)
>>
>>216035560
Is zoomer fatigue going to be the cause of zoomergate?
>>
>>216035560
OP here, yes I'm an old zoomer, yes I hate this lingo. But sadly, it's the only way this days to make people comment in your thread.

For what I see in the past 2 years, if the title of your thread has not a stupid lingo, dies pretty fast.

Also, bots spamming the same thread 8 different times doesn't help either.
>>
>>216032263
It's called anime. Western animation is dead.
>>
>>216035573
>I don´t think that´s the right example
Perhaps my comparison was too extreme, but it was based that today I learned Bluey was the most watched show of 2025, even by adults, which it's prett depressing.

Batman Beyond was the first example I thought as the perfect "anti-Bluey".

>but i understand what you mean.
Good to know.

>the offer used to be far wider for both age segments.
I mean, back then you had 'Pengüins of Madagascar', which wasn't dark but was pretty cool and based:
>science is cool (Kowalski)
>violence is the answer (Skipper, Rico)
>hippies are retards (Skipper)
>brotherhood and camaraderie (the whole group)
What is the last show that appealed to your inner BRO?
You ask a kid this days about a show that show them bro moments and can't think one.
>>
>>216035560
This. I am sick of fatigue slop and I have slop fatigue.
>>
>>216035698
The only good animes are Bobobo and Jojo, the rest is obnoxious af.
>>
Kids in the 90s had Genndy's Clone Wars. Now they have.....this.
>>
>>216035352

There are 4-12 solid shows every season, most of which eclipse anything Western TV has ever done. It's your loss.
>>
>>216035560
Same reason you geriatric millennials slapped -core and -max and -gate and -punk at the end of every word.
>>
>>216035698
Timm knew how to draw em sexy
>>
>>216035375
Miraculous Ladybug, Avatar: Seven Havens, Amphibia, Scavengers Reign, all the Netflix shit that's just a vehicle for gay normalization.
You're basically right though. Children / tweens barely watch TV.
>>
Trying to hang out with western women in their 20s and not watching a children's show is impossible. I think part of the reason they care so much about age gaps is because now a 26 year old woman is usually still mentally 15.
>>
>>216035999
To be fair anon, women never have good taste in art.
>>
>>216035999
>>216037218
Therefore, they have even lesser taste in animation.
>>
>>216035838

This is of course only true in the sense that all Americans in their 20s and 30s act like teenagers. In a few years, some of them are going to turn 40 and still be acting like middleschoolers.

there's no reason not to simply have both. For every Batman TAS/timm show in general there was a Tiny Toons/Animaniacs/Freakazoid/Pinky and the Brain. For every Batman Beyond and Avatar there was an early kino Spongebob or Angry Beavers. And a lot of the best shows were a hybrid between 'cute' and 'dark' like Teen Titans, Jackie Chan Adventures, Xiaolin Showdown, My Life as a Teenage Robot, arguably some 90s stuff like The Tick, Sonic Saturday morning or ReBoot.

We have one single good cute/cozykino show and like nothing else. It's not that the cute show needs to go anywhere, we just need more than one good western cartoon per fucking decade.
>>
I never liked Batman Beyond because it was a really depressing and bleak future where almost nothing Bruce did mattered, Terry was a lame protagonist, his batsuit looks goofy and the future aesthetic was a lot less cool than the modern mixed with early 1900's Gotham we had in Batman the Animated Series

Batman Beyond was aimed at older children and teenagers, while Bluey is aimed at very young kids. This is like comparing the Harley Quinn cartoon with Teletubbies and saying "why can't we just bring back the innocent, nice shows from when we were kids. Also I know exactly where you're from, OP, I hope that reading the words "curse Vishnu" was worth it to get the payment for this (you).
