>This made a generation of faggots and trannies yawn in apathy.

Saw this in theaters at age 10 and Darth Maul was by far the best part of the movie, took a long stick and painted it to look like his double bladed saber and twirled it around a lot
>>
>>216035161
You mean Gen Xers and older millennials? Honestly everyone was hyped when they saw it in the trailers. It was the movie itself that was a bit of a shrug.
>>
>>216035161
This was the start of the "cool new lightsaber gimmick" and the sequels beat that dead horse into a pulp
>>
>>216035161
don't pretend this wasn't the coolest shit
>>
>>216035161
I remember I had a darth maul toy and I absolutely loved making him kill obi wan over and over again.
>>
>>216035161
because George Lucas just ripped off Insidious
>>
>>216035237
He actually killed Qui-Gon Jinn. You were playing with your toys wrong
>>
>>216035210
Fuck off, jeet.
>>
>>216035262
Yeah I know he killed quigon but I was too poor to have all 3 fuck you nigger
>>
I was 8 when TPM came out. We stood in line for 2 hours to see the midnight release, and I fell asleep after the group left tatooine and woke up just as Obi-Wan sliced maul in half

What a dog shit film

Not me, I'm a prequels boy
Also the hate came from older genXrs because they can't accept anything different from the OT, onions they latwr gave them the sequels trilogy with the first one being a safe reboot and they basedfaced in ecstasy
>>
>>216035201
Maul and Dooku are ok and make sense, Kylo's one is dumb

That was the Phantom Menace too.

I wish we lived in a timeline where the sequels weren't utter dogshit and Rey got to use a double. They always made for kino coreography. Of course, that would require actually training actors, and god forbid we do any of that.
>>
>>216035546
Agreed, I especially see the practicality of Dooku's. Disney's
>fuck it, we ball
approach is just atrocious.
>>
>>216035192
This. The duel of fates part is like the only good part of the phantom menace. They wasted like half a movie on Jarjar shit and a pod racing segment
>>
>>216035161
It made us Gen X'ers yawn too.
>>
>>216035161
The Shadow the Hedgehog of Star Wars. Worshiped by autistic zoomers, laughable cringe to everyone else.
>>
>>216036003
No zoomer is old enough to remember this coming out. The absolute oldest ones would have been 3.

prequeltards really go "i liked it as a kid!" as if thats ever been an indicator of quality

There is something deeply sinister going on in Hollywood with all these cool villains and the boring protagonists.
>>
Darth maul (and his duel lightsaber) was the only half decent or memorable thing from that turd pile. People say the pod race was alright but it wasnt worth what you had sit through. That fight was it.

villains are naturally cooler which is why when they really want you to hate them they make them rapists or something

2nd best star wars movie after rogue one.
>what about the originals
Complete slop.
>>
>>216038125
There is WAY more artistic freedom in making the antagonist. If the protagonist isnt a complete moral faggot the movie wont sell to wide audiences.
>>
Gen-X manbabies hated the prequels. Millennials thought podracing was cool.

>Zoomers trying to steal Millennial childhoods
Who was appropriately aged to watch a movie for 8-14 year olds in 1999? Think about this
>>
>>216035269
The problem with Jeets and turdies generally is that they are all mentally 12 years old and never grow out of it. The problem with Gen-X and millennial Westerners is that they grow up and develop taste but think all media should cater to THEM.

The most sane position is enjoying baby media when you're a baby, growing up, and realizing that not everything needs to appeal to you.
>>
>>216035210
What's amazing about this moment is that everybody had to sit through a complete snorefest to get to what is one of the coolest fight scenes in cinema history.

What you talking about, was amazing and we were all going crazy in theaters when he brought out that double lightsaber.
>>
why is it that so many retards are incapable of moving on from this childrens media franchise? this shit was always for children. yeah the prequels were shittier than the OG's but god damn move the fuck on. i grew up with the OG's first and then the prequels right after and i always recognized the prequels as shit but damn if they arent great in a goofy cheesekino kind of way.

You keep redefining children's movies to mean "enjoyment for just children", which is not what children's movies ever meant. They were meant for all ages. Are you retarded bro?

>>216041690
because i think if you get stimulated by star wars well into adulthood you have a serious fucking waterbrain issue.

This is due to the drought in SW content from 1984-1998

Watching Talon rip and tear her way through the casino in the sequels was awesome, no matter what everyone says about them. The action. The choreo. The sabre light reflecting off her skin. The constant fanservice. The gore. Glorious. I remember all of it.

i loved it was the first movie i saw about 12 times in the cinema at age 8, its my favorite starwars movie i dont care how much hate it got
HOWEVER i HATE the other two movies, TPM was pretty good i rewatch it yearly
attack of the clones and sith have ALL the issues modern movies do and basically where it all started
>too much cgi, director never told no, bad writing bad acting bad sets/compositing bad animation bad production
You can see WHY the prequels are so hated, dont get me wrong i dont really like the sequels and the OTT has issues but AoTC and RoTS are BAD movies
>>
>>216042152

dude, phantom menace has all of that shit. im telling you, rewatch it and youll be gobsmacked thinking "how the fuck did i ever like this shit?"

Do they? I don't see any trannies, girlboss dykes or millennial capeshitter dialogue in those movies. It's really just the CGI.
>>
>>216042400
for a movie made in 96-99 thats not that bad, janky yes but it was the first movie to have high quality (for its time) cgi BIG battles
>>

>>
>>216042400
The CGI in The Phantom Menace was shit, yes, but it was shot on film, so when you watch it, the film grains help mask the shitty CGI. The other two were shot digitally, so the bad CGI stands out more.
>>
>>216036190
something severely fucking wrong with you if you don't like or even appreciate the podrace you jaded faggot
>>
phantom menace has some really wooden acting otherwise it's an okay 7 out of 10. clones is kind of a turd until the third act, but in retrospect the kamino arc is pretty cool. Probably a 6.5/10. revenge of the sith is all around good, like a 9/10. none of them approach the greatness of the originals though.
>>
>>216035161
I thought this character was pointless when I was twelve, and I still do.
>>
>>216042608
LOTR Fellowship was made around the same time and actually has smart cinematography that makes up for janky CGI that still makes the shot look great
