Mega's could've been a 4 gen gimmick, but it was flushed for Z moves, which were flushed for Dynamax, which was flushed for Tera Types, which is going to be flushed for some new shit. Stack on an incredible time crunch due to having to sync up the game releases with a multibillion dollar franchise's TV shows / movies / merch and it makes total sense Pokemon games are complete shit now.Well that and too much emphasis on story and cutscene. These games are about making your own adventure with your own team. Every play though is unique. But nah~~~~ Now every play through is the same boring un-skippable cutscenes with increasingly diverse children. Playing through Scarlet was like pulling teeth. You'd start having fun exploring, but then get booted into a 15 minute cutscene about how some kid was bullied. It was fucking brutal.

>>216038704Ash was pretty weak all things considered. He got most of his gym badges through luck or plot convenience. As much as it sucked seeing him basically be a run of the mill jobber at the end of the Kanto story, in hindsight it was kind of kino that the end result of him just being handed most of his wins ends up with him being mediocre compared to real trainers.
