Imagine this bad boy in your man cave
>>
>>216039165
Stuff like this will be embarrassing once we get video wallpapers
>>
>>216039165
Pretty lame
>>
>>216039165
Shit like this is just gaudy to me.
Great engineering and I was impressed that the screen was still seamless when unfolded but unnecessary. Plus uneconomical when it takes 5 minds to be ready to watch something on it.
My old philosophy on tech is that the more simple it is, the less chance that it will have issues and TVs are a perfect example of that. more shit in it, more components, more chance of something failing.
>>
>>216039165
I was more excited when I thought it was a giant stapler. It’s just a big tv, who cares.
>>
>all those mechanics
enjoy your repair bill when that shit starts to rust in 3 years when its exterior and someone fails to cover it or have enough airflow for the cover to let out moisture

and internal, well thats just fucking stupid, might as well spend 100k to remodel a ceiling or floor or wall to have a TV slide out from a cavity

id love to see who the fuck pays these engineers to make products no one but 1-3 rich people will buy, if any
>>
>>216039165
>new tech comes out
>now your 400k tv is obsolete
>>
>>216039165
Just get a tri laser projector.
>>
>>216039165
>still only 2 hdmi ports
>>
>>216039261
>make products no one but 1-3 rich people will buy, if any
They will be built to order of course and the 400k pricetag is not for parts and labour, ifs for the unique design , meaning low supply they can charge wtf they want.

You only have to see the arabs and their vids of their own faggy shit and you just know they will sell a good couple of 100 of these.
>>
>>216039165
Imagine taking a women home and making her wait for this TV to come out and unfold then you hook up the HDMI cable from your laptop and watch some low quality torrented cam rips.
>>
Imagine some kid playing next to that thing and some guess decides to open, killing the kid and parents suing you
>>
>>216039165
It would literally be cheaper to buy a wall sized TV, and then pay to have impact resistant anti-reflective glass installed in front of the Tv, and then to pay an artist yo paint a custom mural on canvas, and then have the canvas mounted on a retractable scrolling system to hide the TV, than to purchase that folding TV.
>>
>>216039187
what ever happened to smartglass?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk146eGRUtI
>>
>>216039274
this happened every 10 days in the early 2000s

not only can you not use any of the space it occupies you now also can't use half the space again to the right as it slides over. genius minimalist design packaging!
>>
>>216039165
ignoring the fact that it will have an outdated display in 5 or so years,
>have to install it in a room off center because of the retarded hinge design
>process to open/close will take forever (see the sped up tv footage), so you will just leave it open/on the whole time, defeating the purpose
>warranty/repair nightmare
>what happens to the things you need to plug into said TV? do the cords move along with the mechanism, or hang off of it?
retarded 0/10 would not take it for free
>>
>>216039165
I got bored just waiting for this thing to fucking deploy.
If I wanted to watch something with friends and family, everyone would just say, "Screw it. Let's do something else."
>>
>>216039750
I'm sure someone dropping 400k on a tv cares about that
>>
>>216039261
The target market is obviously commercial not consumer but I can't think of a practical application where folding would be an advantage or even desirable.
>>

how's that any different from them watching your favorite kino and your trying to hold their attention by saying "no, wait, it gets good in a minute, just hold on it-" as they lose interest
>>
>>216039820
It comes with a third world slave that plugs the cables of your PS5 in the back for you every time it deploys.
>>
>>216039255
>it takes 5 minds to be ready to watch something on it.
And they have the gall to call this the boob tube. Scoundrels.
>>
>>216039165
The novelty of having a folding TV like that is gone after the first week. The entire unfolding process is a long and tedious process that just makes watching TV an unnecessarily cumbersome action.
>>
>>216039165
With 400k I would stop working immediately and buy a small flat. Rich niggas spend it on retarded shit like this without blinking. It's not fucking fair.
>>
>>216039321
Kek
>>
>>216039828
Well it's just retarded. You save no space and you compromise on the technology. You're extolling the whole point of its being impressive are its own shortcomings?

But when it's folded down you can use it as a shelf, put things on it.

>>
>>216039967
Great, now watching TV is even more clumsy and impractical because you have to remove all the stuff that sits on the TV before the entire unfolding process takes place.
>>
>>216039165
>takes almost a minute to deploy at 3x speed
lmao
>>
>>216039988
Well generally the whole point with foldable tech and the stupid shit this is trying to leverage are there are some tangible benefits to the form factor but this literally has minus benefits, downsides you could say, compared to just a static screen of the very same size. It's an exhibition in absurdity to impress the most base of window lickers as I can see?
>>
>>216039165
i could have infinite money and i wouldn't want this

One cool thing about MicroLED is that you can replace a panel since they're just tiled displays
>>
God awful, honestly. Rather panel a wall with low-light screens for the illusion of outside.
>>
The fuck is the point in a table that morphs into a tv if it's that expensive? It's a gimmick at best.
>>
>>216039165
It's always been funny to me that they use lower resolution televisions to try to advertise higher resolution televisions. If the tv in the ad looks so good, that means your tv is fine, you know
>>
>>216039165
Don't get me wrong that's cool and all but I just see so many parts and things that can go wrong on such an expensive toy.
>>
>>216040356
where is his frontal lobe?
>>
>all these poorfags with no ability to put themselves into a rich persons shoes
it says indoors and outdoors
the use case is obviously to have it installed on your terrace/patio or your garden
you need it to fold up so it doesn't ruin the view while not in use and so you don't have to have the help clean birdshit off of it before every viewing
the real travesty is it folding out into both directions, not only to the left
which makes the whole thing not centered, so it actually occupies a different sightline when folded up vs folded out
that plus it folding out in a way where the front of the screen does not align with the front of the support
horrible design

but if we have something in abundance, it is rich people with no taste and aesthetic sense at all
>>
>>216040356
This is very very cool and all, but how much does it cost?
>ONE GORIRRION DORRA
Ok, then you aren't selling them. Lower the price.
>BUT CEO-SAN NEEDU MORE YACHTU
Ok, then you aren't selling them. The faggots at the top of your corporation make too much money. They can take a big pay cut so they only get to buy 3 mansions this year instead of 7, give the people actually making this insane tech higher salaries, and then lower the cost so I will buy it.
>>
>>216039165
Use-case for disguising my tv as a large metal box?
>>
>>216040356
This is much cooler than the OP. I could absolutely see this replacing traditional panels.
>>
>>216039165
400k for something that will have obvious lines between the panels, wowie
>>
>>216039165

Is there anything preventing you doing this with LED?
>>
>>216039165
>not OLED

>>
>>216040618
It's very likely going to, MicroLED is superior to LCD in pretty much every conceivable metric.

The only problem is, as usual, it costs too fucking much.

while i agree the product is retarded, make no mistake, whoever would actually buy this, would have gotten bored of it in 1yr and would have sold it on, donated it to some stupid museum, or simply junked it and gotten the next big thing, or just a projector.
>>
Who asked for this?
>>
>>216039165
For the same price you could probable build a microled screen as a single piece and get 16K resolution for a ~200" screen

>>
>>216040075
