They shouldn't be as retarded as they were and still are, they deserve some flack for that

If it's the latter, I have no idea what corporations you're talking about.
>>216043168performatively” is wild coming from the side that treated mask-wearing like a personality trait and posted their vaccination cards like engagement photos. Chuds didn’t “perform” anything. They just ignored it. Full stop. The only people doing theater were the ones filming trembling Instagram stories about grocery store aisles and applauding nurses like it was the Super Bowl halftime show.If you think not complying is “performative,” that’s you quietly admitting your entire worldview is a stage play.
I didn't miss this type of discussion.
>>216043218>the side that treated mask-wearing like a personality traitthey didn't, but that's what your side propagandized to keep you being a chud. It worked because you are not a firework.
>>216043188I accept your concession
>>216043247Chuds not masking wasn’t a narrative, it was observable reality. You could literally walk outside and see it with your eyes, assuming the fog on your face shield didn’t block the view.If you need to pretend it was all some secret PR operation because the alternative is admitting your tribe lost its mind for two straight years… that’s fine.
>>216043218your side reacted performativly just to be against what the democrats were trying to do which was stop covid from spreading so that you could WIN or something, but then you actually started eating horse paste and saying is cured cancer. People ate fish tank cleaner and died, so many people died because of Joe Rogan. All because you didnt want dems to "WIN".
>>216043278I don’t even have a “side,”. You’re arguing with a Republican OC you invented because it’s easier than dealing with what actually happened.Nobody I know was out here eating aquarium cleaner or doing ivermectin cosplay to “own the libs.” Half the country just looked at the rules, shrugged, and kept living their lives. You’re projecting political fanfic onto strangers because it lets you imagine every disagreement is some Marvel-tier battle of Good vs Evil. It’s not. It’s just you spinning yourself up over people who didn’t join your covid LARP.If you need everyone who disagrees with you to be a “chud footsoldier,” that’s on you. Don’t drag me into your programmed hallucination.

It felt like a movie made from youtube comments and tweets from the last 5 years. It wasn't bad, but it was tiring and even though it might have got a "heh" out of me a dozen times it still seemed played out and tired. It was also too long and way too rambling and bloated, the actual plot was a mess and by the end I didn't really care what happened to anyone anymore.Still a 6/10 though

This movie rocked. Turns fully into the vertigo of the COVID/BLM years in a way designed to leave absolutely everyone feeling terrible and more insane. I loved it. Aster makes a film that unsparingly aims to render what it feels like to be alive in the present, which is to say a baffling experience mediated entirely by screens that produces total alienation. What this movie does better than anything is portray this ubiquitous sense that there is some unspecified DOOM out there with our names written on it. It it the virus or is it the cure? Regardless of your politics everyone has some version of this, and we're all convinced that everyone else is lying to us about the nature of this doom, but at the same time we remain haunted by the question what if they're right? What if it's not unseen powerful forces, but what we see in the mirror? What if our attempts to figure it all out or exert control over our lives, our communities only further accelerates the doom? Maybe all the conspiracies are true, but none of them are more insidious and effective than the ones we employ against ourselves.
