I was good. I liked it. But believe it or not, he actually spends too much time talking about battles and generals and not enough time talking about the experience of everyday colonialists, indians, and slaves.

Nothing more boring than amerimutt history.

Why are people just now realizing that Ken Burns is a woke fag when he's been that way for years
>>
>>216039872
Woke didn't exist as a concept before Trump
>>
>actually the revolution was led by oppressed native americans, black slaves, and white women girl bosses

he pushed the "lost cause" explanation over the reductive idea of the civilwar being about slavery in his civilwar series.
>>
Do they bring in black professors to moralize about slavery?

I watched the first episode, and it was pretty good. The woke stuff was basically nonexistent. He of course talks about indians, blacks, slaves and women, but they are all treated as side characters basically (which they were for this event)

Ken has been on a press blitz to promote this too and he seems to be a big Washington fan which is cool. He hypes up Washington, but acknowledges his faults and the fact that he was a slave owner, but doesnt dwell on that which is refreshing.

A nice chunk of the colonists wanted to remain under the Crown, including family members of the Founding Fathers.

Yeah, there really are not a lot of shows that focus on the life of that time. Like how important the post office n shit. I love that stuff.

Tell us about something cool that happened in your country.

My ancestor John Seward (1730-1797) fought in the Continental Army. Didn't own slaves but was descended from Connecticut shipbuilders who certainly made slave ships.

Everyone had some connection to the trade, despite what you hear nowadays about it being all Jews. Everyone profitted from it.
