I prefer Pluto TV
>>

>>
the most reddit app
>>
>>216042379
Nope, that's Netflix.
>>
Because absolute trash is lumped alongside absolute classics. Kino.
>>
Its not that hard when you think about it,
Its cheap to license old movies, especially shitty movies from the 80s and 90s amd early 2000s but by today's standards these movies are masterpieces compared to any original content other streaming service are putting out
>>
>>216042084
PlutoTV has WAY too many ads. I recall watching Equilibrium on it and it extended the movie by about 30 minutes in ads alone.
>>216042379
Nah. Redditors app is Netflix cause it’s slop slop all the slop

It has a better selection compared to netflix and Hulu. How is that possible?
>>
>>216042563
So do streaming sites that you pay for.
>>
>>216041958
Because they will grab literally fucking everything. They're getting all the kino for short bursts because they're lumping it in with long-term licenses for "Hood Nigga Drama 3: My Baby Mama's An Alien" and "Shitty Sin City Knock-Off: We Got Michael Madsen For 5 Minutes" and don't even ask for masters, instead just using shitty foreign uploads of everything to make sure it genuinely feels like a shitty pirate site. They figured out the streaming model far better than Netflix. Once they get some decent serialized stuff they'll probably become more dominant and become dogshit but until then I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts.
>>
>>216043112
Shorter license times as part of bundles with other, low-ROI properties that they pay for longer license times of. They basically go "We'll generate a bit of profit out of your unprofitable shit and you'll let us have your good stuff for three months."

Tubi has a really good selection of old movies and niche stuff like giallo films. The remind me alot of old netflix. They used to have a very similar selection to tubi before they made all their "originals", now they have less than 100 movies made before 1990. It is sad because I watched a lot of classic films on it back in the early days of netflix and it got me into Korean thrillers. Now they have rules on what cameras you need to use to make a netflix movie and they are all digital, probably the most anti art movie comany in the business. It is really a shame what happened to them. Now all the good stuff is on tubi. Also a tubi secret is most of the movies on tubi don't have drm so you can rip them with yt-dlp and keep them.

>>
It really very simple. TV used to 1) be better written 2) could make 24 episode seasons

Everything went downhill after the 2011 strikes and streaming. Everything is serialized slop now because of streaming and WGA/AGA demands.
>>
I'll literally never understand tubi shills. It's like you're too poor to pay but too stupid to pirate.
>>
>>216044225
Why would you bother to torrent something if you could just watch immediately on Tubi?
>>
>>216041958
Really eclectic collection and no bullshit for me, the viewer.
>>
>>216044225

>>
>>216044225
I've been slowly working on watching a movie from every country and it's bizarre how Tubi will have random shit from Barbados or St. Lucia. Stuff you can't torrent anywhere since nobody has ever heard of it. But it's just a click away with Tubi. That is one strength is has over torrenting.
>>
>>216042428
This is accurate
>>
Tubi is definitely the most fun I've had browsing. Compare it to Amazon or apple or peacock you pay for and none of them have shit
>>

>>
>>216044384
>"bizarre"
>doesn't answer the question
I'll ask again.
Why would I torrent a movie if I could instead immediately watch it for free via streaming on a site that I don't even need an account for?
Answer this fucking question, because there's nothing bizarre about it or the obvious to it, which is that I wouldn't torrent the movie, I would it instantly and for free instead.
>>
>>216044394
for me it's B-Movie TV, they play Clown Porn on friday nights
>>
>>216043978
Doesn't work for smart TVs retard, no VPN on smart TVs either.
>>
>>216044225
Torrents are unreliable and take too long. It's not worth it for 99% of media. I tormented the entirety of Startrek along with a dozen other shows and a couple dozen movies and that's all I'm commiting to that. I'm not going to take 30 minutes of my time to then wait another hour or two just to watch something that wasn't worth paying $5 for on Amazon prime. If waiting several hours or paying are my only options, my next thought is: "is this show/movie worth it?" And the vast majority of the time the answer is no. So laying in bed at night (the only time I watch anything) putting South Park or something else on on Pluto in the background while I fuck around on my laptop and ignore the ads until I pass out is definitely preferable.

you can literally just download shit from Tubi. you don't even need to mess with CDMs or anything
>>
>>216044483
I've tried adguard dns
kinda limits ads for smart tvs
network settings edit dns
94.140.14.14
or
94.140.15.15
however I've only noticed a slight difference when using youtube app. tubi and pluto still have mandatory commercial breaks
it's an adblocker dns but doesn't work like one for a browser on a pc or laptop. more like an ad limiter
>>
>>216044483
i haven't seen an ad on Tubi since setting mine up
>>
>>216044225

You can manually configure a smart TV to choose its DNS server? Retard, it's going to treat the smart TV as a mobile device and require you to either configure its DNS server or make it use a VPN, neither of which a smart TV can do. You watch all your television on the laptop mommy bought you and it shows.

Because I’m not a child that needs things immediately. Because I have a backlog of torrented movies that I can watch when the new one is downloading. Because I can watch it commercial free. Because I can watch it in better quality. Because if I add it to my library I can watch it again or just have it on while I do other things. Because I won’t need to be concerned when it’s no longer available. Enough reasons?

Smart TVs are just over-sized Android phones. They can do all the same things an Android phone can do, and that includes DNS configuration and VPNs.

>that I can watch when the new one is downloading
oh, right, you've chosen the method that requires waiting
>Because I can watch it commercial free.
So can I, on tubi.
>Because I can watch it in better quality.
I think tubi has 1080p, but I don't really care either way and I'd buy a bluray if I did
>Because if I add it to my library I can watch it again or just have it on while I do other things.
You can do that on tubi, too.
>Because I won’t need to be concerned when it’s no longer available.
Neat me too, though personally I can afford physical media when I care about that specific issue.
>Enough reasons?
All of your reasons were gay and using
>I have a huge backlog and I have to deal with wait times for downloads
as pro arguments is retarded.
I remember when I would torrent everything and have a big backlog of crap. It was 20 years ago, and I was a teenager. And I didn't ever even watch probably more than half of the things I had in my back log sitting, taking of space. And I know with 100% certainty that you have the problem, only you're presumably and adult, though probably not one with a job.
>>
>>216045384
Those aren't settings from a smart TV. I've noticed how you refrain from naming any specific products. You're very obvious fed boy.
>>
>>216042563
Reasonable, because it might hit you with like 3 ads a movie, and pointless if you're watching on a computer.

Overall it has the best catalog basically old Netflix-- just a bunch of shit that makes no sense being together and movies that aren't just FOTM and made before 1985, Foreign films? forget it. It has the best overall catalog in those as well, so you fall into a rabbit hole of weird ass italian movies. Then, you have those hilarious Made in Detroit black movies that's usually just a bunch of dealers/hustlers and strippers fucking around and making a movie.

It's like the only streamer that understands most people watch this shit while sleeping and don't give a fuck about your forced series. We want the feeling of watching some random movie liike TNT, TBS and other cable outlets used to do before they got lazy.
>>
>>216042387
The last kingdom will always kind of redeem netflix for me
>>
Watching seraphim falls right now on Tubi. 2000s western set in late 1800s with liam neeson and pierce brosnan
>it's another AIDS pill commercial with a montage of a black guy and a gay man
They used to have trannies in every one of these, mysteriously absent for a while.
>>
I've been watching Pokemon XY on tubi
>>
I know people are throwing shill accusations around, but I've been streaming Babylon 5 and that's won them a lot of points with me. It's been off streaming in the past so it's great to see it available. I have it on DVDs, but I don't have a DVD player anymore, just a couple laptops with disc drives.

I do wish they had an ad-free option, at $10-15 I'd buy at least a couple of months. But they seem pretty adamant that it's not their model.
