I think so. The dynamic between Grace and Rocky is just so cute and fun (but there's still pretty tense and dangerous moments) that I can see general audiences falling in love with them. Especially Rocky. What I loved about the book is that it's fundamentally optimistic. It's a first contact story where one human and one alien meet and they have to work together to save their respective species. And they become buddies. It's cute and fun and exciting but also pretty dramatic in parts. I hope the film comes close to the book.
