What made the New York niggas bold enough to think they could take over territory in Baltimore of all places?
>>
they weren't taking over they were more traveling merchants.

They thought Baltimore niggas went soft because they arrested barksdale

In the drug gamer there are no "travelling merchants"

His dress and extremely proper and pious persona resembles those associated with the Nation of Islam, more particularly its paramilitary wing, the Fruit of Islam, although it is never explicitly stated that he belongs to either organization. Also, his character might be inspired by the Black Mafia, a criminal organization comprising mainly Muslim African Americans that has close connections with the Nation of Islam, but unlike those affiliated with the Nation of Islam, is involved in drug trafficking.

Brother Mouzone doesn't seem that difficult to get rid of imo. Maybe I'm forgetting something but he would just sit in the middle of the projects on a bench reading the paper all day. Should someone just walk on by in a trio as if they were minding their own business, pull out guns when close, blast him then run, I don't really see what he could've done to prevent that. He didn't seem to be on edge at all times so you could likely get the jump on him if the assassins looked inconspicuous.
>>
>>216044165
Yes, but they did have to get it on, regardless.
>>
>>216044347
That's why his whole thing is ridiculous they act like he's some omar tier threat but then show us nothing to prove he's actually dangerous. Even the cheese shooting would've realistically been followed by his two goons coming back and firing like mad

To date the only series that shows niggers the way they are. The fourth season, which is the best, show them as lazy, abrasive, illiterate, arrogant, violent, cheats, retarded, unintelligible and entitled. Sure, there are quite a few decent black folk too, like Lester and Daniels, but the majority are shown as mentioned above. And barring the final season, the episodes are truly well written and easy to keep you hooked onto the show.

Why did they introduce the fat sassy black woman "detective" in S3 like she was always there then just drop and memoryhole her halfway in? She just sat around clipping coupons while the others worked and had a couple "MM-HMM" *bobs head and wags finger* lines. What was the point?
>>
>>216043601
They have Puerto Ricans in New York. Mexican demographics are small
>>
>>216045725
Why did this show have a minor character? What the FUCK was that?
>>
>>216045770
All the minor characters who were actually in the unit the season follows had plotlines. Even the goofy lieutenant with the beach house had a coherent place in the organization and purpose for the plot. But there's no explanation why she's in Daniel's elite unit and why she's allowed to sit around not working all day while everyone else has clear objectives.
>>
>>216044347
I mean if you kill him NOI is just gonna send another nigga, if not more and come for a reprisal. It makes more sense than people somehow being afraid of Omar. He's a single guy who every criminal hates and walks around without a bullet proof vest.

It was the unit that Daniels got full control over where he got to pick his own people and cases and didn't have to deal with dead weight being dumped on him. No Polks and Mahones, only people he knew were hard workers from his previous cases. Why would he pick a 100% dead weight person who does 0 work and just wastes budget?
>>
>>216045725
shes the translator, she helps the team understand the incomprehensible ebonics and behaviors of the pavement creatures
besides, a large part of wiretap cases as described by the show is just sitting around waiting for things to happen, you can have someone being paid a salary who's sole job it is to sit at a desk waiting for calls to come in and report on them
in a case where there is a job which is 99% inactivity, it is not necessarily a deficit to have a fat and lazy moron fill that position

she also shows us that there is a profound disconnect between policing and the street which is a major theme of the series
and that you can take a black out of the baltimore streets, but they will still be a baltimore black
this underlies another theme of the series, all strategies that do not address the underlying problems they intend to solve are doomed to fail, this is how these people are and how they act, pretending that they are any other way or policing them (or teaching them) in ways that do not target their essential and native traits is futile
>>
>>216048081
>shes the translator, she helps the team understand the incomprehensible ebonics and behaviors of the pavement creatures
In S1-S2, Prez and Freamon were seamlessly translating impossible ebonics. There was no reason to randomly make them dumb just to make room for this character.
>a large part of wiretap cases as described by the show is just sitting around waiting for things to happen
S1-S2 established that Prez was the one sitting there listening. They didn't need a useless coupon clipper there who wasn't listening anyway.
>she also shows us that there is a profound disconnect between policing and the street which is a major theme of the series
Her character contradicts this point. She translates mystery ebonics that not even Freamon knows, which means she's more connected to the streets than anyone. Even though she's just some random middle aged lady
>>216048081
>all strategies that do not address the underlying problems they intend to solve are doomed to fail, this is how these people are and how they act, pretending that they are any other way or policing them (or teaching them) in ways that do not target their essential and native traits is futile
None of this has anything to do with her character specifically. You're just interpreting the overall themes of the show
>>
>>216049069
you asked for reasoning behind detective mammy being added so I provided guesses for what I thought they might have been however far a stretch
maybe the writers thought about having some use for her that they later removed or downgraded, or maybe she did exactly what they wanted her to, which seems to be acting as a living prop in most scenes she appears in
considering how much of the rest of the show are deliberate choices, I refuse to believe that someone given a speaking role does not advance either the plot or the themes of the show in any way

>NOOO, MCNULTY, HOW DARE YOU MAKE THE POLICE DO OUR JOBS!?
>YOU'RE A GAPING ASSHOLE! WE JUST WANT THE CRIMES TO REMAIN UNSOLVED!!
McNulty never did anything wrong. The system was fucked
>>
>>216050445
Nobody paid for those crimes to be solved
>>
>>216050445
mcnulty's actions often got either himself or his friends screwed over, like bunk catching the eastern european jane doe hooker whodunnit
or kema being pulled off of a triple homicide to work his fake serial killer case
he is always correct in his assessment of the situation, but his judgement is awful, the system being fucked is precisely why his actions were always wrong
if everything is broken, no amount of effort, good policework, or rat behavior is going to get it fixed
>>
>>216049069
Prez was gone you fucking retard. You are literally too dumb to understand a show about niggers where the information you are looking for is spoonfed to you IF YOU ACTUALLY PAY ATTENTION AND DON'T SCROLL GRINDR ON YOUR FUCKING IPHONE WHILE ALSO LOOKING FOR UNDERAGE KIDS TO GROOM ON ROBLOX WHILE YOU ARE WATCHING IT YOU GODDAMN MOUTH BREATHING TROGLODYTE. Holy shit.
>>
>>216050527
well boohoo, no one ever gets paid enough, now go solve the case, pig
>>
>>216050557
Those crimes aren't the job
It's the crime the boss wants you to solve not the ones you want to solve
>>
>>216050568
they aren't the job because everyone in the police is silent about them. like seeing the decaying corpse on the street but keeping your mouth shut about it
>>

nta
calm down goyim, prez is still active in the service in the early parts of season 3 and freamon doesnt go anywhere, anon has valid criticisms of the fat black lady

>Why would he pick a 100% dead weight person who does 0 work and just wastes budget?
They might not have had anything to do. Theres plenty of jobs where you're waiting around for something to happen and your paid to be there if it does.

Like the scene where CIA does his police ride along and visits homicide. CIA asks what they do all day, Landsman says wait for calls. CIA tells them to act natural because he's only there to learn
>kima flops her feet on the desk
>lester starts doing his woodworking
>landsman pulls out his pocket tit mag
>>
this show is 20 years old but things are still exactly the same
