I just finished season 4, Is this a good point to drop the series? I heard it gets really really shit really fast
You have to watch the next episode at least
>>216046011yes, you can just watch the last episode of the original run and resurrection if you feel like it >>216046034also this is i guess
No to be a real Dexter Fan you must watch ALL seasons and suffer like the rest of us! If you dont wanna be a fan then yeah you can stop there and watch Original Sin and Resurrection.
>>216046011just recently finished a rewatch, season 5 is ok to watch. after that though it gets progressively more retarded until the complete diarrhea entree that is season 8.
>>216046048>>216046069Are the sequel series good? I don't want to watch the prequel
>>216046011You don't have to let other people color your perception. Try to watch it or don't.
>>216046128original sin is pretty good, resurrection is peak dexter
>>216046128I mean New Blood is ok better than seasons 5-8. Resurrection is a must and I feel is a return to form.
>>216046239this. resurrection did everything right and is as good as any new dexter is ever gonna be.original sin is cool but not really necessary, if nothing else the actors did do a pretty good job
>>216046128Also there will be stuff in Resurrection that you will need to know so might be good to watch a Youtube recap of the later seasons
>>216046128Resurrection is s1-4 quality, but you should either watch New Blood or read a synopsis of it before you watch it because it's a direct sequel.
>>216046274>Youtube recap of the later seasonsyeah that might be the play, thanks for the idea
>>216046322No Prob!
S4 is legit the best place to drop the series. That's what I wished I did before dropping it in season 6. I ended up watching the last episode when it aired and it made me feel great about dropping the show. So just watch the final episode if you want a taste of how bad this show becomes.
Honestly yeah
>>216046011It doesn't get unwatchable if you don't binge it. Wait a year before watching S5, then another year for S6 and so on. They're all watchable, New Blood and Original Sin too, if you don't binge them.
I couldn't finish season 1 due to how shit the acting is
>>216048888you're insane
>>216046011Depends on how much you like Julia Stiles and Johnny Lee Miller. If you like them, drop it after season 6.If you don't care for them, drop it now.
Watch all of it, except the Hannah scenes in seasons 7 & 8, in order to appreciate the holy kino that is Resurrection.
>>216046011It got shit after season 2
>>216048888You are based>>216048907You're insane
Guys, I'm two episodes before the end of season 4 and I can't watch them. I know what's gonna happen, but I don't have the courage to see it happen. It's too sad and painful. He had everything. He could have been happy. But he choose to chase chimeras. I can't forgive him for what is he about to lose. As long as I don't finish season 4, Dexter is still in a happy limbo state. It has to stay that way forever
>>216049698You must continue. Feel it. All you're doing is running.
how about you watch the show until you don't want to watch the show???? like wtf. why do you have to ask random people on internet when to stop watching
>>216046011If you didn't drop it during season 3 you might as well watch the rest, season 3 is probably the worst one overall
>>216046011Nah Season 5 is one of the best, you can drop it after but at this point might as well finish it
none of them are really that bad except 6
Every season up to 5 introduces some interesting dynamics between characters. I'm 4 episodes into season 6 and so far the only interesting thing is his relationship with Sam, but I can see how it's the weakest season. We'll see when I finish it.
>>216046128New Blood sucks ass and can be ignored.Resurrection is basically a "best hits" season, its enjoyable but the story is not compelling in the slightest like S1-4. If you want to see Dexter just school a serial killer club without breaking a sweat its a fun watch.
I'd say season 5 is the hard drop. S4 is where you can comfortably stop, and 5 is where you probably should stop at the latest because it has an ending that feels way better than what we got.
6 is the best season. You can tell by how much faggot /tv/ hates it.
>>216046011S4 is honestly Dexters best ending and is a perfect place to jump off the series. Its wraps up his entire 4 season arc by having him become more human only for everything that made him that way to be instantly torn from him and destroyed due to his own selfishness. Its Dexters ultimate comeuppance that he should live with the guilt of what hes done and actually feel the pain of it like a normal human being. The later seasons attempt to flirt with the idea of this but never even come close and eventually drop it all together and Dexter just becomes a superhero.
The John Lighgow trinity? killer season is the last solid one, not sure what season number that is.
imagine being such an npc you let others dictate what you watch
>>216052106I didn't like Dexter's retarded musings about religion, but i did like the villain. Didn't see the twist coming.
>>216046011>Season 5 isn't terrible, but it's bland, and the villain is silly, a running theme for following seasons. >Seasons 6 through 8 are genuinely laughable and go through lengths to retcon Dex letting go of Biney and moving on, but the ending to Season 8 is important. >New Blood is good except for the last episode, which is completely retconned for Ressurection. >Ressurection is overtly more comedic and silly but in a way that works well for an old Dex.>Original Sin is an unnecessary sequel and is chock full of retcons that really muddles Dex's killer timeline
>>216046128If you're retarded and clap like a seal at clumsy fanservice, then resurrection is right up your alley.
>>216046011Just watch the whole thing, for as long as you find you're enjoying it. There's no need to follow some weird rigid doctrine about when to drop it. Even the worst Dexter seasons still have plenty of ironic entertainment value
