Who's struggles are more relatable (acceptance, trust, life purpose, failure) while facing the dichotomy of good and evil with the future as Superman being potentially good or evil rather than he's just good all the time and saves everyone and he's boring. Also, Hans Zimmer's powerful and mature theme that captures the soul and essence of Henry Cavill's Superman is pretty amazing.

Like I've always said: Man of Steel is the perfect Superman movie for people that never liked Superman to begin with. A Superman movie no child can ever enjoy (hint: Superman was created as cheap entertainment for 8 year-olds, not for neckbeards). There's plenty not to like about Gunn's Superman movie but, if you squint, it at least kinda resembles the source material.
