I just prefer the Superman of the real world and not of a silly reality where super dogs and jokes come at the expense of sincerity.

A Superman that's his own an not chasing what came before of what we've seen again and again.

Who's struggles are more relatable (acceptance, trust, life purpose, failure) while facing the dichotomy of good and evil with the future as Superman being potentially good or evil rather than he's just good all the time and saves everyone and he's boring.

Also, Hans Zimmer's powerful and mature theme that captures the soul and essence of Henry Cavill's Superman is pretty amazing.

Snyder's version of Superman is still equally as cartoonish, just in an Alan Moore sense. A movie about flying aliens who wear capes isn't any less childish just because the main character comes across as depressed and the colors are muted.
>>
>>216051171
For all the retarded fucking shitposting I see in these threads, I think both the new and old movies are shit. However, there is one thing I liked about the Snyder movies, and that's Cavill as Superman. Unfortunately, they didn't give him anything to work with, but I think he's the only one who could have pulled off a good Superman if he had a good script and a good director to work with.

stop watching capeslop and grow up, dumbass manchild
>>
I liked both movies :)

>A Superman that's his own a not chasing what came before of what we've seen again and again.
Then you don’t like Murderman because that shit was just a shitty version of what Donner and Reeves already did. Sneeder is such a retard he couldn’t even bother to include one new Superman villain.

MOS is very blatantly trying be “Superman’s Batman Begins”

>not of a silly reality where super dogs and jokes come at the expense of sincerity.
Gunnman is incredibly sincere. If anything it’s Snyder who is insincere. Every time he does something retarded and gets backlash he would lie and make up some bullshit
>Oh you didn’t like Superman killing? Well he did that to learn killing was wrong and now he won’t kill again!
>Has Superman kill in every sequel
That moron did this so many times, he was a compulsive liar. Gunn at least doesn’t back down from his creative choices

It's kinda funny that DC is on it's 100th version of Batman and Superman, yet Marvel still has the same actors/characters. Now you tell me who won? DC sees Marvel, they run.

It was so terrible that even a mid film by James Gunn was enough to make people completely forget about it. >"Henry who?"

Grow up and move on from forgettable capeshit.

The average person or even the average leftist doesn't believe this, you consume too much online political polarization slop. Also that message is in no way endorsed by the new Superman film.
>If any of your family are right wing you should completely disassociate from them and never speak to them again
Freedom of association brother, but again I don't think this is ever stated in the film either so why would you bring it up?

the problem this and the other snyder DCU films had was they were being released against the MCU films which were all really good at the beginning except Thor. now that the MCU is over and they saw how bad Gunn's movies were they're starting to appreciate the snyder movies more. it just sucks that they still aren't great movies.

Based. Snyder injected mature themes in the comicbook movie genre, Plato's Republic, allegory of Superman as Jesus.

>To become Hollywood’s new Man of Steel, Henry Cavill had to pass the Laugh Test. To wit: Could he wear the Superman suit without anyone giggling? And not just any Superman suit. To shoot his screen test last month, the 27-year-old British actor donned a replica of the costume Christopher Reeve wore in director Richard Donner’s classic 1978 film. By today’s standards, those sky blue spandex threads with the iconic S shield on the chest look dated — and hence an effective yardstick for the team now charged with making Superman fly for 21st-century moviegoers. ”If you can put on that suit and pull it off,” says director Zack Snyder, ”that’s an awesome achievement.”
> Snyder saw something different. ”He walked out and no one laughed,” says the director, a geek pop idol for his work on Dawn of the Dead, 300, and Watchmen. ”Other actors put that suit on and it’s a joke, even if they’re great actors. Henry put it on, and he exuded this kind of crazy-calm confidence that just made me go, ‘Wow. Okay, this is Superman.”’

You can add as much gore and tits and dark shadows as you want, there is no way you can make Superman not silly. When I see OP's pic all I see are insecure manbabies trying to grit up a baby thing to compensate for their shame of still being into kiddy shit as adults. It's pathetic.
>>
Like I've always said: Man of Steel is the perfect Superman movie for people that never liked Superman to begin with. A Superman movie no child can ever enjoy (hint: Superman was created as cheap entertainment for 8 year-olds, not for neckbeards). There's plenty not to like about Gunn's Superman movie but, if you squint, it at least kinda resembles the source material.
>>
>>216051171
I actually watched this again last night and it's wild how much better Cavill was as Superman and how much better the character was portrayed.
He didn't get beaten up every five minutes or rely on someone else to save him, he got the girl and the other girls thought he was "hot".
Juxtapose this with Superman 2025 where Lois Lane is literally considering dumping Superman because he's a pussy and you can see why audiences failed to turn out.
