I grew up on Big Boris. Love him.
Same as Lugosi.
But I put them on a different shelf in my head. They didn't really try to be adaptations.

Faithful to the novel hyperkino is 2004's Frankenstein and the 90s Count Dracula by the BBC with Dracula played by that Frenchman.
