I prefer the simplicity of transmission but I think the Devs might be retarded.

Also mpv has better customisability than VLC (from a config perspective) but VLC sometimes has bad decoding errors so I'd probably go to MPC or something on windows.

qbit's search plugin function is much better than using individual torrent websites. It's the most retard friendly way of getting torrents there is. qbit torrent walks through you getting the in-built torrent search setup (takes only a couple of button presses) and then all you have to do is go here - https://github.com/qbittorrent/search-plugins/wiki/Unofficial-search-plugins

Click on the download link for the torrent sites you want, copy that URL and install it in qbit torrent. You're literally up and running in <5 minutes.

I recently grabbed the complete bluray of Doom: Annihilation from a private tracker and used it to resurrect a dead public torrent of it that was stuck at 99.2% for something like 3 years. When I joined the swarm, there were 30+ peers who immediately downloaded the remaining 0.8% from me (and then from each other).

Imagine their face when they are minding their business and their client suddenly informs them with a tray notification that a bluray of Doom Annihilation finally downloaded after 3 years.

Private trackers is boomer tier internet stuff. I had demonoid, passthepopcord, what.cd, and a few others. Piracy is easier than it has ever been now and I don't use any of those sites anymore.

Piracy of music is easy when what you want exists on streaming services. Then you use any of the tools that take streams directly from them and voila.

(except that you might be after a different master of the release and such, but I'm talking about simple cases here)

But when you are after stuff that was never even released digitally / on streaming, then tough luck. Go join whatcd / red / etc.

The same general concept is true for movies. You'll always be able to super easily pirate Avengers, Mission Impossible, Dwayne Johnson slop, and so on. A random European movie from 2007? No.

Two of Statham's 49 live-action movies were never released on blurays.
One is Mean Machine, released only on DVD, but a HD(ish) transfer exists and therefore there is a 1080p web-dl from Amazon. Like many films from that era, it could use a new scan desu.
The other one is Turn It Up, which is a ghetto hood film about some rappers where Jason plays the bad guy. It was also released only on DVD, but apparently an HD digital master doesn't exist at all, because no streaming services have it in HD.

One autistic nitpick that I have about many pirate releases (even on private trackers) is when a 4K release of a movie comes out and the groups / releasers who get their hands on this new 4K release upload only the 4K disc, even if the package also has a 1080p disc. Unless it's some fresh movie where the 1080p and the 4K hit the shelves at the same time, usually the 4K re-releases have a new transfer or at least a re-grade and the corresponding 1080p disc in the package is therefore also valuable because it contains this new transfer. But alas.

Those smaller encodes still have some value. If I ever want to watch a movie for the first time I'll just download one of those H.265 encodes that are a reasonable bitrate or crf ~19 and if I don't like it I can just delete it and move on but if I do like it I can always source a remux or smth.

Now, personally I did have Dropbox delete an audio file from my Dropbox folder by an audio fingerprint due to a DMCA thing (it was a file I received personally from the musician which was slightly different from the official released version, so it had to be fingerprinted like Shazam/Soundhound).
However, every peer being subjected to this is absurd. Even the ones in Romania, Russia, Brazil, even the ones running Linux or Windows 7? It's a ridiculous concept. You can't mass-delete a file from everyone's PCs.

PrivateHD, IPTorrents, CinemaZ, Blutopia, DigitalCore - none of them have it.
Also a very unfortunate name for efficient searching through public dumpsters like BTDig.
I did try to search for "The Mississippi 1982" on them just in case, but found nothing.

Based fellow actor autist. If she's in a TV show do you get the whole show or just the season or just the episodes she's in?
>>
>>216316795
If she's a guest in a few episodes, only those few episodes.
If she's in "most" episodes of a season, then the complete season.

Ellen Hollman https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1712005/ is in "half" of season 3 and in the entire season 4 of Spartacus, so I'm keeping seasons 3 and 4. But then also she's in a bunch of random-ass episodes of procedural stuff, like 1-2 episodes per show, and it makes absolutely zero sense to keep those entire shows lol.

I can sometimes make an exception for stuff like "without the Actor, but very closely related to some of his work and also rare". I see it as worth keeping. Someone out there might be interested in this specific movie series and not in the actor, and it would make sense to keep a rare webdl or a rare bluray of the sequel movie alive.

That's pretty much my system too, unless the show actually seems interesting to me then I just get it to check out in earnest. Do you collect stuff where she's "As Herself"? I'm trying to collect that stuff too it's a bit harder because people rarely upload BTS and featurettes and stuff like that. I bought a couple physical media for stuff I couldn't find. There's one rare ass tape that some guy on Ebay wants like 1000 dollars for and I'm pretty sure he's behind the one defunct YouTube link I found getting copyright claimed and taken down. Wild.
>>
>>216317025
>Do you collect stuff where she's "As Herself"?
That would mostly be interviews and late night show appearances and such. No, I'm not *this* autistic. :) I stick to "stuff that officially counts as performances", so to say. Although there are plenty of BTS / backstage stuff in complete blurays with extras.

However, my somewhat long-term plan for Gemma Arterton involves this final result:
- live-action roles (she's almost always the lead, so the few "minor appearances" can be placed here too)
- voice work (she voices a lot of cartoons and such)
- short films, music videos, misc similar short-form projects
- official recordings of live theater productions
- without Gemma, but related to her works and rare
I currently have about 1.0 TB of her, I think a "perfect" end result if I had access to absolutely everything is probably around 1.5 TB or so as of 2025.

Who's your actor of interest in that old series?
>>
>>216317133
Jeff Combs. I forgot about voice acting. I totally ignore cartoons for some reason my autism doesn't acknowledge them idk why lol. Maybe I should reconsider. It's just that I wouldn't actually wanna watch them I guess.

Fucking scalper behavior, despicable. I see it often in music (old releases that were vinyl-only or CD-only) and also, curiously, in a niche hobby of twisty puzzles (like the Rubik's cube but there's so much more). As soon as something becomes out of stock and unavailable, people come out of the woodwork happy to resell their mint-never-played copies for absurd amounts of money.

NNMClub has a HQ DVD release of Season 1, with added Rus audio but otherwise untouched / not re-encoded. You can find it either on NNMClub's own website, or in BTDig on the very first page of results if you order by size.

This has to be the same DVD that I see in private sources, where it's completely untouched (English only) but dead with 0 seeds.

This is undeniably the best version you'll find, you'll just need to ignore the additional Rus audio.

Season 2 with 4 more episodes is more tricky:

- First of all, apparently it's a separate/standalone thing that was made many years later, and it has its own separate IMDb page?
- Rutracker, NNMClub and Rutor (the big Russian trackers) have this season 2 (in fact torrents with both seasons at once) but only in Rus-only audio because it's SATrip from Russian TV
- I see the upload of this Season 2 on one private tracker. It's a DVDrip, but it's released as 2 avi files which are each 700 MB. At this moment, I have no idea how the episodes are arranged there (probably 2 episodes per file? but idk). I don't know anything about this series, so you'll have to judge yourself whether it is what you need.

Within a couple days (but most probably within a day), I'll repost this season 2 in the thread "Keep calm and seed the torrent" in /t/, watch that space.

I notice classic video compression artifacting easily, and more generally I seem to be more sensitive to "drawing style" of imagery (which *includes* artifacting but isn't limited to it) than an average person. Obviously I don't give a fuck in something like a tiny 4chan webm or a youtube video etc, I'm not autistic about this, but I do care in a visually rich medium where good imagery is kind of the point.

The latest Mission Impossible, for example, had inadequate bitrate in the submarine scene in the most popular Amazon web-dl (the one that was around 12 gigs or so). Did it "take me out of the movie" or "ruin" it? No, but I did see it with my naked eye and wished I downloaded a better option.

Shitting the bed how?
>>
>>216321070
Don't watch Yify, it's absolute hot garbage. I genuinely don't understand how Yify even became popular, it's wildly inadequate bitrate-wise for the resolution.

It's hard to figure out what you mean by stuttering, because stuttering in the normal sense of the word isn't the compression artifacts. But what you should easily see in bad quality rips is excessive blockiness and/or watercolory smeaing/smudging (depending on the codec), and also you'll see elements of the picture get "detached" from the 3D scene that it portrays and start basically floating around in screen-space, that is, as if there is a transparent glass between you and the people/objects in the scene and some parts of the image seem to be on that glass pane, either glitching or staying in place despite people and the camera moving, etc. This is the most common way for compression artifacts to manifest. They very visibly look like they are not a part of the objects that the video is supposed to be depicting.

What's interesting is that their sizes made me think that it's the same thing but repackaged with diff audio/subs, but actually they are different inside, just very close in bitrate. The Swedish one is PAL but 16:9 with the 4:3 image letterboxed into the 16:9 frame (..... why...). The Russian one is sane with simply 4:3.

Anyway, if you'll have the orig Australian disc, it will be interesting to compare which is which. I have to go soon but I'll post mine in that thread anyway too.

> It's the same 3x DVD9 PAL release that you posted the cover for.

His cover is for 2xDVD9 Season 1. The 3xDVD9 Seasons 1+2 has a different cover.

Ew I can already smell the curry. No, I use private trackers like PTP AB & BTN.

... also btw when you post there, please check the total combined lengths on each disc and write it there. I found something strange with one dvdrip but I'd like to know the reference from your dvds before I draw conclusions.

It's All The Rivers Run (1983), the original mini series that I'm grabbing, not All The Rivers Run II (1990) which is not available on the tracker I found it on. And it's definitely a 3 disc PAL release. Sure, I'll include the run time when I put it on /t/.

Yes, I need torrentleech instead of a garbage public tracker like 1337
>>
>>216306033
this but mpv and IPT/torrentleech
>>
>>216321873
if you don't care about quality then public trackers are fine. private trackers are like walking into a pristine movie store and they have everything available in every format you want. public trackers are like a shitty chinese bootleg market.
>>
>>216321955
plus you cant just upload total low effort garbage without getting banned
public trackers are the worst

It costs approx $2 a month for instant access to everything on netflix/prime/HBO/Apple/Disney/etc via stremio. Plus I can use debrid for torrenting if I want my own copy of anything. Stop being poor.

Private trackers suck a fat dick because every fag is trying so hard to seed that if you actually download anything without waiting five years to seed more, or paying for a seedbox to compete with the retarded fags, you get booted for bad ratio
Just buy one DVD a month at that rate instead
>>
>>216322538
which private trackers are you on? ptp is piss easy with its freeleeches and bonus points system. btn is literally ratioless.

basically what I do. Stremio + real debrid. Never had a single issue and I can locally download any video I want if I like it. Stremio gives me a instant catalog.

Is scavenger's offer still valid over at CG? He posted it ages ago but I think the offer still stands, no
>>
>>216323844
I think so. There's sort of official recruitment between tvv and cg in a thread in the class-restricted forums, and it's still valid on tvv. I'm not on cg yet so can't confirm from that end.
>>216323801
That's actually not one of the episodes.
