This was an acceptable almost any fantasy/sci-fi movie other than Predator. Betrayed warrior goes out on an adventure and acquirers a loyal wife and a dog before getting revenge on those who betrayed him, simple fun satisfying story. The problems were fitting this behavior into any Predator movie before it. That and literally telegraphing every little thing before the end of the movie. It's like there should have been text at the bottom of the screen that read

>PAY ATTENTION : this will come into play later on.

And that would have been more subtle than the way they actually shot it.

Yeah and that's not at all what Badlands is, which is why it sucks. It's literally just a reskinned Star Wars movie.
Frankly, I think the entire concept of making Predator a franchise is bizarre to me given the movies do mediocre at best commercially and since the first one they've been decent at most while most of them have been terrible.

Prey directly ripped off the best predator comic there ever was with the quick sand ending (a bunch of hillbillies get drunker than shit in the woods and start getting chased by a predator, they all die except one who kites him into a swamp, drowns him, and then fishes him out and cooks him.
