>watch some random vertical video with a theater director
>interviewer asks why young actors playing Disney or similar teen drama stuff have that "Glee" acting cringe mannerism
>theater director says it's because the actors do that because they find the characters uncool and unconsciously try to put a quotation marks around their acting to not pollute their authentic selves with the characters they don't like
>high-tier actors can close the gap between the self and the character and fully empathize with the character while on stage

Is this all there is good acting? Just practice the basic techniques then try not to feel embarrassed by retarded shit the characters say and do?

Suspending your disbelief isnt just for the audience anon

No.

It's more complex than that. You need a combination of elite social perception, a fractured ego (pref. raped), an expressive face, and internal "glow" (or charm). Ultimately acting is a complex form of social mirroring, the same thing babies do when watching their parents face above their crib, trying to make meaning of the world.

Young actors suck because they are too aware that they are being filmed and they don’t want to look weird or cringe or ugly so they are tense on camera. They can’t fully embody a character because they’re too in their own heads. The result of social media making young people constantly worry about how they are perceived

Even some audience members are unable to suspend their disbelief, so it makes sense that some actors would have a problem with it too

How this gremlin and his ginger brother Howard somehow posessed the genetics to produce something as gorgeous as Bryce Dallas is somethng that mdical science needs to study in depth.

That reminds me, Brad Renfro would have been one of the greats if he had access to pharma grade heroin with precise dosing.
