I'm on an IT kick.Which adaptation do you prefer? Are you caught up with Welcome to Derry?Have you read the book?
I'm about a fifth of the way through the audiobook and every day I feel more and more superior to people who have only seen the movies (me two weeks ago)
>>216487732>Which adaptation do you prefer? 2017. Nobody does it like Bill>Are you caught up with Welcome to Derry?Yes, it's nice to see actually entertaining series in 2025>Have you read the book?I hate Stephen King. I'd rather watch the movies/series. I know it's practically the same, but i'm not gonna waster physical space in my house with one of his booksI've seen videos with the difference between adaptations and can't say I've missed that much
>>216487732IT 1990 is far superior and actually scary, I can't take the cheap CGI monsters of the 2017 version seriously, there's not a single scary moment (the closest one is the old woman in part 2 when she's in the background, but it's immediately ruined by the CGI crap that happens seconds later)
>>216487895There's nothing scary about any IT movie. 90's one is more goofy and tropey and 2017 more gorey
Balding makes him mad
>>216487895You're allowed to like the 90s version but not because it's scary lol
I've read IT probably close to twenty times since 1988 (I was 17). It absolutely does not hold up well. I loved it as a kid but as I got older and read better books, it just comes off as sloppy and almost incoherent. It's too fucking big for what it's trying to do (scare you). The plot loses steam in probably 100 different places.. it does have some gushy parts (Patrick Hockstetter being a twisted solipsistic fuck) but overall, it is just weak. Great beginning, good premise but flawed execution. I've read all his stuff multiple times, you can ama about King. Two of his best books weirdly enough are non-fiction but the rest vary wildly from absolute drek (Tommyknockers) to at least entertaining (The Dead Zone)
>>216487732The remake is probably better since it wasn't made for TV and had a much higher budget, but Tim Curry's Pennywise is far superior.
>>216487732Neither, the original book is complete shit. Tim Curry is fantastic as always but it is a low budget TV miniseries. The newer movies are kind of hilarious, but not worth watching for a giggle.
>>216487732Stephen King is a worthless hack who appeals to underage retards with zero taste, so neither. The only reason The Shining is even remotely watchable is because Kubrick went out of the way to make King seethe about it.
I like Skarsgards portrayal in a vacuum, but I think portraying Pennywise as a monsterous freak misses the point of what makes him an interesting antagonist. I think the character is much more interesting when he's an almost passive, run of the mill clown that is spotted out of place before tragedy strikes. Like an almost lovecraftian entity that bends reality around him. He's cruel when he's targeting prey, but if you are a random Derry citizen you would never expect bad intentions despite the absurdity of his presence.
>>216488038>Great beginning, good premise but flawed executionI'm beginning to notice a pattern...
>>216488038Something that all the adaptions cover well is how the Loser's club/children parts are interesting and adult parts are dogshit. The opening of the 1990 miniseries is genuinely creepy and then it descends into farce. The movies have one decent scene under the bleachers but the rest is just LOUD NOISES SCARY nonsense. The new tv series is wall to wall awful writing, they're just imitating the Loser's Club with the children and not even in an intelligent way. The adult plots are embarrassing.
>>216488215Yeah, a lot of his stuff is like that. Starts out great but turns into drivel before the final act. Shame because his imagination is bigger than his talent. I can understand that tho
>>216488237I can't even being myself to watch the show. I have a friend who loves it and she's not a normie in any way but she will eat horror slop every day of the week. Sometimes she's right about something but most often, she's wrong so I can't take her opinions seriously
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuzn8bbhhQQThe only good scene of 1990 which is more than I can say about 2017
If 'Welcome to Derry' were better received, we'd be dealing with Periwinkle spam right about now.
>>21648773290s it is funny but about as scary as a Fox-Kids Halloween special 2017 is more gorey and Penny-chan is only funny when he ragebaits
>>216487732I like the TV miniseries but people don't like it as much. Tim Curry was made for that role and so were the other actors.
>>216487732The one that’s actually scary. Scared the shit out of my sister and I as kids. The 2107 one is just Stranger Things with a Pennywise that has Down syndrome
>>216487732The book is the best. Like The Stand; I would class it as a horror fantasy novel (which sometimes the adaptions miss). The tv miniseries is closer in terms of timeline but because its low budget and censored for tv it comes across as an episode of Goosebumps sometimes. It scared me as a kid though because of the juxtaposition of a colorful clown in dark sewers and boiler rooms. The first IT movie is the best in terms of keeping the spirit of characters but also making you feel the threat of pennywise. Pennywise himself in the movie is too overplayed though and the scares are generic jump scares. Pennywise in the book takes his time to scare his victims and devour them. he also has many classic forms like a werewolf and a mummy. The jump scares are worse in Chapter 2 tho which is like Freddys Dead quality. The second movie only adapts parts of the book and changes a lot. IT has good scenes but is uneven in tone. I love the book; especially Mike Hanlons personal history of Derry which I thought the series would be but disappointingly isnt. The thing that pisses me off about the series is the changes to lore.
Tim Curry looks so odd, it made IT scary if watching as a kid, the shower scene was disturbing too
bookfag here ama
>>216490124why would anyone read stephen king when life is already short?
>>216488197this obviously tim curry's version in current times would not be scary at all so they had to make skarsgard's portrayal extra creepy but book pennywise just looks like a regular clown which makes sense since it's a disguised meant to lure not scare.
>>216490150They’re cozy reads
What was your reaction when you found out there is an Indian version called Woh, with a completely ridiculous backstory change and ending?
>>216487732The first is more enjoyable as a whole and I think Curry is a better pennywiseThe second is more enjoyable for the effectsCould you imagine if we had the capability of making shit look this real without pozzing up the story today?
>>216490150His books are good. I also dont subscribe to the notion that his books are great in concept but not so in execution. They can be messy or self indulgent which hasnt worked all the time but people who have the former criticism seem to be talking about the adaptions. The reason that some adaptions dont work is that they cut character development. The reason people love a book about a car that can kill your enemies or repair itself isnt because of the concept but because the characters are relatable.
>>216490167I think you could make a traditional clown version scary these days. He just needs the right kind of atmosphere and tension
People only pretend to not like Stephen King because he's a woke pedophile. Nobody who says his books are bad has ever actually read them.
>>216488237It's because King was obviously bullied as a child so Derry, the loser's club, oblivious parents and IT are all allegories to his traumatic memories and how he saw things as a kid. That's why the kid chapters feel way more sincere and substantial than the adult parts where he had to just think of something to conclude the story.
>>216490124Which cover did you read it with? This is an important distinction.
>>216487732I read the bookoriginal IT is betterno the clown isn't bad, it's all the rest that sucks. The overabundance of bad cgi, the immature screamers, the script, chapter 2 being liquid shit.... I like the new pennywise. And I won't talk about welcome to DEIrry.
>>216488237>>216490509I actually really like the adult chapters. I'm not finished with the book yet but Six Phonecalls had me in awe.
>>216490167Skarsgard ‘s version is too tryhard imo. Modern horror has no subtlety. It’s like it’s made my non horror fans trying to imitate what they think horror is, i.e. jumpscares, gore, “scary” looking creatures
>>216490528not the OP bookfag, but the one you posted is the one my old man had when I was a kid and the one I ended up reading.
>>216490577I like the mannerisms of Skarsgard's version more so than just the look. It really gives a lot more of the sense that it's not a person, it's a monster trying to seem like one.
>>216490577I understand them wanting to go their own direction with the character, but it's such a deviation from the novel that I'm still left wishing we could get ANOTHER another adaptation that might finally get things right Kinda wish Welcome to Derry wasn't in the Skarsgardverse because I'm just so very starved for a good Pennywise
>>216490625I understand the appeal for casual fans who didn't grow up with the book or miniseries, but I stand by this Anon:>>216488197Part of what makes pennywise uneasy is how "normal" he seems before you peel back a layer, much like Derry itself
The absolute best summary of both takes:Tim curry's IT looks like a monster trying to act humanoid, and it kinda failsSkarsgard's IT looks like a humanoid trying to act like a monster, and it kinda fails
>>216490528>>216490590I'm partial to pic related. I like the first edition cover, but the monster claw is so goosebumpsy that I can't help but knock it down a notch
>>216487732>prequel series of killer clown killing and always winning to keep the canon intactWhats the purpose of watching it, normies?
Pic related is honestly such a fucking peak cover. It's really easy to dismiss movie poster ti-ins, but if the film had never been made I'd maybe say this is the best cover for the book. It's just vague enough to have the mysteriousness of the other great covers without going overboard with clown imagery
>>216490528The first time i read IT was a boring uk rerelease cover with amber colour scheme. This one is probably my favourite cover from my most recent reread. I also own the old UK hardcover edition which has a great carnival cover.
>>216481127>>216481090They literally cannot help themselves but to bring Trump into thisI guess the main dude looked so much like biden that they had to include Trump to offset any memes coming out of this about biden hating black people and trying to smoke out Corn Pop
I like the idea of someone trying to get on It’s good side, but the army feels like a bit much. I don’t know.Also. What would happen if some sicko fell in love with It? How would It respond? What if Ingrid said “I don’t care if you’re not my father; I still don’t want to lose you”, what would its reaction be?
Contender for my least favorite. It's not the worst, but the worst for me. So fucking middleschool library-core. I can just imagine my 8th grade teacher handing me this book as an assignment and never once opening it.

Why would anyone reread IT, especially multiple times?Oh hold up, I think I know.
>>216490669>Tim curry's IT looks like a monster trying to act humanoid, and it kinda failsAnd that’s why it works. Uncanny valley effect. You can tell it’s an act and something ain’t right.
>>216490800>How would It respond?Uncaring deathIngrid only almost got a pass because IT had already fed its cycle worth, and she was clearly a useful tool. >>216490783This one's okay. Probably the best of the past 10 years but it falls into multiple boring book cover tropes. So very Barns and Nobile esque
Can we please just have a show with Pennywise going undercover in Russia to take out commie scum that would be great thaaanks
>>216490625Yeah I’m not knocking Skarsgard’s performance, he was great in it. He was just very obviously not human. I think he’s scarier when you get the uncanny feeling. Like what you’re seeing looks like a human, but there’s just something not quite right about it
The 90s mini series is better imo because it's more faithful to the book. I wish it wasn't made for tv though. Maybe one day we'll get a faithful adaptation. Welcome to Derry is hot garbage though. I'm convinced any bookfag in this thread could have written a better plot.

>>216487732I actually think 2017 is good, except for Pennywise. Pennywise as an antagonist just falls flat, but the kid drama is pretty well done. By contrast, 90 is dogshit, EXCEPT for Tim Curry who knocks it out of the park.I’m just waiting for AI to advance to the point where we can digitally fuse the two into the perfect adaptation, including the scene where they run a train on Bev, because that’s an important scene lore wise.

I got through It and thought it was bad, I thought The Stand was worse and barely finished it, and I started The Talisman but dropped it after about 50 pages because it sucked.Stephen King stories come off as if they were written by a dorky, incompetent teenager trying to emulate the stories that a competent adult author would create.
>>216490590Stuff like this is way more unsettling than the new movies where Pennywise always distorts his face and runs at you while the camera shakes and the music blares. Seriously, nearly every attempted scare is like that in the new movies. I also prefer the 90s clown outfit and makeup over the modern one, even if it is closer to the book's description. And the way they always use a red balloon instead of different colored balloons is kind of annoying, but that's a minor nitpick.
>>216490528I like the idea of that cover, saw it around a lot as a kid, but the monster hand has never looked good to me. I have an old hardback with this cover which is also a bit silly to be fair

the 2017 movie was good, the sequel sucked assthe 1990 movie/miniseries is corny and not scary just like any other stephen king thing that was made back thenshould I read this?
>>216487732Tim Curry is like a regular clown who happens to be fucking creepy. That makes him scary. The new one is basically like something out of a goosebumps book. Ultra cringe
>>216494619>The new one is basically like something out of a goosebumps book.Goosebumps monsters didn't eat or dismember children in bloody and violent ways. If anything, the mini series version of IT is more akin to Goosebumps monsters since they couldn't show much gore or violence. Not saying thats a bad thing, just that your comparison is wrong.
Sophia utterly btfos the girl in the 1990 version and isn't that all that really matters?
>>216494619nah sorry bro this just looks goofy as hell
I finally read the book earlier this year. I liked it a lot, even though it has annoying things about it like how often he describes the kids cracking themselves up and laughing non-stop for several minutes over a dumb joke. My favorite thing thing was It's influence on the whole town, how adults looked the other way or forgot when terrible things happened to kids, or how the fact that Derry had an absolutely insane rate of child murders and disappearances but no one in the town cares/remembers and no one on the outside knows about it. The interludes are really good too.The worst part about the book and all adaptations is that the stuff about the Loser's Club as adults does not work, ever. Boring as shit and I can never find myself a way to give a shit about them
>>216493894Its silly but also otherworldly enough to still be intimidating and match the tone of the book I think. >>216494362This is peak. All of the Japanese covers go surprisingly hard>>216494498Good in concept. It almost gets it right. >>216494857what was the best part of the book?
>>216494783i'm older than i'd like to admit... this scared me as a child and it still scares me now
What people (including Stephen King himself) fail to understand about Pennywise/Derry is the concept that something that looks trustworthy may in fact actually be a black hole that you never leave. Small towns are like this, Pennywise is like this. So turning Derry into Racism, USA or Pennywise into an evil monster makes the audience wonder why anyone would want to stay in a town full of assholes with an evil monster clown, and the answer we get from King is "something something hypnotism, sometimes".
>>216494362Memes aside, that is a really nice cover. Who's the artist?

>>216494894Probably the part where they all go to the house on Neibolt St for the first time. It's not the stupid child orgy that he wrote when he was more cocaine than man, which is what you're obviously insinuating.

>>216494931>makes the audience wonder why anyone would want to stay in a town full of assholes with an evil monster clown, and the answer we get from King is "something something hypnotism, sometimes".Sort of. It does have an influence, but the book says that there's always a sizeable exodus of citizens after the major catastrophes. It's not always because they know or remember exactly what happened, but because they just get this instinct that the town is fucked and they should leave.
>>216490124i decided to start reading seriously recently. I started with some clive barker's stuff and now i'm ready king's short stories collections. >>216495404nta but I would maybe do Pet Sematary or The Shining before The Stand. Don't get me wrong, I love The Stand, but it's fucking long and does drag in the middle imo. Pet Sematary and The Shining are really really good and much quicker reads.
Welcome to Derry is entertaining, and I like Billy's creepiness factor but I still prefer Tim Curry's clown hammery>"The children are drawn to you" implying he wants to larp as Pennywise to gain the trust of children>*Acts like the most ominous and frightening motherfucker while doing so*Billiam.....................
>>216495514i'll keep that in mind, thanks for the heads up.
The only good thing about WtD is Pennywise trolling Hallorann by immediately understanding his shining power, finding his weakness, opening the box and then just leaving Hallorann there with his zombies, useless for the rest of the season.
>>216495628if you like audiobooks, the one for Pet Sematary read by Michael C. Hall is fucking great
>>216495622I really love the hell out of Skarsgard Pennywise's performance and appearance, but there is definitely a disconnect in his appearance and his intent to lower the guard of his prey. I will give it to them that I was impressed with the actual Pennywise's act. Definitely made his appeal a lot more believable.

Not so much the titular story itself, even though it's pretty good, but the weird gentleman's club full of books and other things that don't exist in the outside world and the immortal butler who seems to feed on interesting stories. There's another short story called The Man Who Would Not Shake Hands that centers around the same place. It'd make a great framework for a Tales From the Crypt-style anthology series.
>oh, uh...>*looks around in thought*>I...I ATE him!
>>216499968Kek
>>216501723Yeah, I'm really surprised the Breathing Method hasn't been adapted yet considering the Body (Stand by me), Rita Haywood and the Shawkshank Redemption and Apt Pupil have been and pretty successfully too.
>>216499882What with the lil Jewish fella?
>>216500014They kids from the first episode were a better cast than these ones.
>>216490528I had the 1990 paperback
>>216488038Tommyknockers and salems lot my favorite ones from stephen king.
>>216500014They tolerate each other at most. The losers actually bonded throughout the story and that's what made them stronger than the other kid victims.
>>216494894>>Goes to paheal and obviously sees an image interpretation of the scene. 0_o
>>216502344Yeah I love Salem's Lot. It is under if his best early works. Inspired by Dracula ofc
>>216502596It is one of his best early works, I meant to say
Finished episode 4 and man has this shit fallen off hard. Does this get better???>Which adaptation do you prefer?2017 was kinda good. I enjoyed it. Part two was slop though.>Are you caught up with Welcome to Derry?Episode 4 done, but might was my hands of this. Annoyed, the pilot episode was great.>Have you read the book?Yes, I like how this is set in the exact time period of the original story. I would have preferred if the 2017 was written for this period instead.
>>216497372Is this spooky or based on boring real life type shit?
>>216487732Left. The right one is way too try hard.
>>216490679>Spooky red eyes in the darkHoly shit no subtlety. It would have been better if it was just dark and ominous. It looks goofy.

>3 hour moviei simply cannot do it
>>216503470Black spot fire is from the books, everything else is fanficHave to say it Welcome to Derry manages to be entertaining with Bill hamming it up as the clown and all the silly CGI monsters
>>216503442Neither does "reading" Stephen King "books".
>>216503717>Black spot fire is from the booksNo it's not. In the book (not "books") it's a nightclub and not some random shack in the woods where black people hung out once.
Can't believe it got Rich, the last likeable kid.
Why did Rich have to die? Why did the people wear devil masks?
>>216503792it didn't get him, he wasn't afraid in his final moments
>>216503860Ben Cooper masks.
>>216488038I liked the Derry Interludes the most in the book. The stories of weird and scary stuff that happens in Derry.
Rich's sacrifice is the stupidest thing ever.
>>216503755It diesnt make sense. They got to chill and have it open for 10 minutes of an episode before the tip and the fire. Like goddamn it was open for a single day???
The blackspot fire was justified>but muh racismThe patrons harbored a known criminal, no matter their race.>but but the cops could of took care of itthe cops was already strongarmed into leting someone not involved in the case to talk to the suspect due to muh civil rights. A officer was even let go over the incident so the cops were compromised. The community members had to step in or no one else would.>you you are just a racist chud...yes I am but simply put if armed men of a community want a known criminal you are harboring then you draw guns on them you are a idiot if you don't expect any recourse. They should of gave him up. You wanna get high together then you gonna fry together you uppity jigaboos.
I grew to like Skarsgards Pennywise voice. It's fun to imitate.
>>216503992A lot of stuff in the series doesn't make sense. I know retards always complain about not having everything spelled out for them but they pretty much ruined Pennywise by expanding the lore and giving him a backstory for his clown form that contradicts what was already established.
>>216487804It's the pinnacle of Stephen Wrber's acting. Audio books can redeem shitty television actors.
>>216503999>bait/10Let's see how many people fall for it.

>>216487990>>216498254Second, it was scary as fuck as a kid!
>>216504048don't think the book ever establishes anything about the pennywise look, just that it's the form that scares children the easiest and allows it to move freely without alarming the adults of the towndoesn't really go into where it got the look from
>>216504099Nope it was all changed to ghouls, and the only ghoul that was always meant to be there the leper doesn't try sucking Eddie's dick it's all heartless
>>216504121The clown was never meant to scare kids. It was merely camouflage to get close to them, before they realized what it is.
>>216504072not bait you just been so brainwashed to believe blacks can do no wrong. You are woke compromised.
>>216504143only kid that gets even close to being tricked by the clown get-up is georgie thoughhttps://comicbook.com/movies/news/stephen-king-pennywise-inspiration-it-tim-curry/
>>216490742I dare say it looks Japanese inspired
>>216503755it's actually referred to in the book as a "requisition shed" that Will (not Leroy) Hanlon's superiors let Will, Dick Hallorann, and their buddies convert into a night club, to keep them out of the lumberjack dives in town (where the white lumberjacks didn't give a shit if black people were there). It becomes popular enough that even *gasp* white people start going on the weekends, which is what pisses off the maine legion of white decency that they eventually show up with torches. it's implied that the legion might not have even meant to torch the place and were only there to scare them. of course the show would never show any of this because all wypipo bad and literally more evil than pennywise.
is this the threadcan we talk about the dinosaur turdslick
I dont get it if Skarsgard wasn't originally going to do the show then what was their plan?
>>216504239was dick hallorann in the it book?i'm just asking because i'm gonna look like an idiot when i tell my aunt that dick from the shining is in the new it show
>>216504272Paying him more until he said yes.
>>216504275No. But King has a shared universe with his stories, so multiple characters and refere Hell, theirs a line in Dreamcatcher hinting Pennywise may not be dead.
>>216504377looks a bit more than just a hint
>>216504377dreamcatcher doesn't count he was high as a kite on opiates after surgerythe closest thing to shared universe he has is dark tower
>>216504275dick is in the chapter about the black spot fire, yes. it's very brief, but he does shine a bit when after the fire starts he stops will and one or two of his friends from heading toward a door which he insists is blocked from the other side and instead leads them to a window or something to get out.
>>216488038>sloppy and incoherentwell king was on copious amounts of cocaine while writing ita lot of his work from that period makes sense with that context
>>216504402i am confused.you're saying the it book, which i admit i've not read, had a chapter where there's a fire like the one that was just in the show and dick halloran from the shining is in it?
>>216504441nta but yes, the book mentions the black spot fire and dick halloran being there
>>216504499crazyi thought this whole show was in a time outside of king's writinglike it takes place in the 50's or 60's or something before the little kids in ITimma go to sleep listening to michael c hall tell me about skeleton crew goodnight frends
>>216504518in the book it's like a flashbackbut king likes adding these connections in all of his booksfans have even linked up the canonology of the bookshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmhWbMiIeV8
>>216504547big if truei'm goin down a rabbit hole i shouldn't go downmy irish american family loves stephen king but they weren't this autistic about it

>>216504575stockholm syndromebeauty and the beastimma go to his house in bangor and fart copiously
>>216504441yes. there is a chapter in the book where Mike Hanlon's (the black kid from the movies) dad, Will, describes the fire and the events leading up to it to Mike, and Dick Hallorann is involved. He also describes seeing a giant bird with balloons attached to its wings swoop down and grab one of the legion members and float away as the legion is fleeing the scene. God damn this show pisses me off. We could have had great pennywise kino, the writers could have had their "muh racism" aspect while remaining mostly faithful to the canon of the book, but instead we're getting poor fan fiction.
>>216504598Who needs a giant bird when you can have Pennywise use an epic CGI pyramid head axe
>>216504598This show is pandering to casuals and they wanna see the clown. I'm surprised they waited this long to show the pennywise form
>>216494857Yes, the stuff as adults just isnt as interesting as a bunch of vulnerable kids taking on a cosmic horror, and they grew up into shitty people besidesHard agree with you on the fact that the adaptions never focus on absolutly unsettling the town itself is, i hope an adaption someday explores this instead of le racism in le 60s small town america
I'll take a shitty spider puppet over giant CG pennywise doing a slav squat
>>216504547yo this video is dogshit and gives king way too much credit
>>216504598also, here's the bit where Hallorann shines...>“Dick grabbed Trev by the hair of the head just as hard as he could, and when Trev turned back, Dick slapped his face. I remember seeing Trev’s head bounce off the wall and thinking Dick had gone crazy. Then he was hollerin in Trev’s face, ‘You go that way and you goan die! They jammed up against that door, nigger!’ >“‘You don’t know that!’ Trev screamed back at him, and then there was this loud BANG! like a firecracker, only what it was, it was the heat exploding Marty Devereaux’s bass drum. The fire was runnin along the beams overhead and the oil on the floor was catchin. >“‘I know it!’ Dick screams back. ‘I know it!’>“He grabbed my other hand, and for a minute there I felt like the rope in a tug-o-war game. Then Trev took a good look at the door and went Dick’s way. Dick got us down to a window and grabbed a chair to bust it out, but before he could swing it, the heat blew it out for him. Then he grabbed Trev Dawson by the back of his pants and hauled him up. ‘Climb!’ he shouts. ‘Climb, motherfucker!’ And Trev went, head up and tail over the dashboard.

This is the scene that traumatized me as a kid. So much of the miniseries was silly clown fuckery that the moments it stops pulling it's punches and goes fully surreal hit like a freight train
Can this show get any more woke and retarded? Also let me get this straight, the niggers are protecting a serial killer on the run who everybody suspect killed at lest 10 kids? Guess no snitching was core of their being even back then. Then again Tulsa riots started the same way, a buch of din duns protecting couple black mass shooters who murderer 12 unarmed people and shoot another 10, today thanks to jewish revisionisms it was turned into some purge, when it was started, led by, organized and escalated by blacks.

>>216505935falsely? who the fuck gonna believe in magic space clown? he lied about his alibi, he was witnessed around the place of murders, he refused to say where he was, there are multiple people who saw him in places where he said he wasnt, people think he killed multiple people while escaping from confinement, hes on the run and in hidingobviously the excuse is that hes fucking a white woman and is afraid they will lynch him for it(lol) but for all anybody sane knows hes a dangerous serial killer who killed what, 10 kids and 10 adults?so no you retarded fuck, he wasnt falsely accused, he was justifiably accused, but as always, he din du nuffing and wont explain where he was since racism or some shit

>>216487804>every day I feel more and more superior to people who have only seen the movies (me two weeks ago)You should definitely ignore this feeling, it’s deeply misguided.
>>216500014No white boys
>>216506418This is explained in the book, IT is a cosmic psychic entity and fucks with people's minds telepathically, IT projects a psionic field throughout its entire territory. Basically everyone in Derry is under a sort of hypnosis which makes everyone just accept all the fucked up shit that happens in Derry as normal everyday occurrences, they see in the paper that a bunch of kids are missing and a ton of people died and the news hits them with the same emotional weight as a story about a local cat being stuck in a tree.
>>216500014For continuity reasons they literally can't actually accomplish anything.
>>216488038>I've read IT probably close to twenty times since 1988 (I was 17).Holy shit what a waste of time. Book fags are such pathetic losers. You probably could have learned two new languages instead of spending that time re-reading Stephen King fantasy slop
>>216506795Why is an interdimensional horror raping kids in some backwater in Maine?
>>216504250>Drop a giant turd into a furnace.Imagine the smell.
>>216503442No shit, retard.
>>216506896It crashed here in a meteor a couple centuries ago and got trapped by the turtle, another cosmic entity which died to seal IT. IT feeds on negative emotions, foremost fear, its preferred flavor, but it can make due with other negative emotions like hatred/sadness/shame/ect if it has to. It feeds in a cycle, once it wakes it starts out by picking off kids one by one, building to a crescendo where something big happens, like the incident at the mill where IT kills a dozen or some people all at once in a big ol' feast, then once sated, it fucks off and sleeps for 27 years before it wakes up and does it all again.
>>216506896In It's defence, Derry are the squatters to its territory.
Pennywise is literally a Christian god.
>>216505960>her budding blossoming boobs n butt.
>>216506795everyone except Hanlon and his wife of course
>>216499882That "cinematography" is just atrocious. Bet it was directed / shot by DEI hires.
>>216507492Also explained in the book, the longer you're in Derry the stronger the effect grows on you. So people who move to Derry have it less than people who were born in raised in Derry. If they say, spent a year in Derry they'll desensitize too, they just happened to show up right when the cycle was starting so it didn't have time to take root in them yet.
>>216507369succulent beauty indeed
>>216506506I think nothing works best. The big bold red IT and Stephen king kind of gives away its a horror. That said any of your other ideas work far better than the hulk hand.
>>216500014they were doomed in a prequel that you know they have to fail
>>216500014they're meant to die
>>216507942Why not just set this in its own timeline? Was it really necessary to tether it to the established canon? Right off the bat we know nothing crazy can happen, we can't nuke Derry, IT can't escape, the kids can't kill IT, the government has to fail, nothing of actual conseqnece can happen because it takes place in the same timeline as the original.
>>216487732I prefer the first. I know it wouldn't matter if my life was on the line and it was trying to kill me, but just in watching it, the first is a clown that's scary, the second looks like a try-hard.
>>216507993>nothing of actual conseqnece can happen because it takes place in the same timeline as the original. They will probably end it by having them think they killed IT just like the end of the first parts of the original and the newer movie. Maybe their actions will make IT weaker, which is what allows the losers to end up actually killing IT. Consequences don't always have to mean someone/something getting killed.
>>216504250I can't help but think some kind of magic metaphysical space rock wouldn't be effected by a simple furnace
>IT attempts to trap Hanlon in IT's deadlights>They attempt to show what it is like for the person trapped.>It's some cosmic dimension/parallel world shit that would drive most people insane>Hanlon is able to resist and navigate this other world because of his brain injury>He learns what IT's weakness/fear is>He breaks free from the deadlights and shares what he found out with the kids
>>216488197They also play their hand way too fucking only with Skarsgards Pennywise. Even if its only a brief moment you see him doing the crazy open mouth lots of teeth shit straight away which just turns him into a boring monster. There are moments where you see a really good idea for making Pennywise creepy that then just goes too far and its another scene of him screaming and running at the camera.
