Started off strong and historically grounded, progressively got shittier and more ahistorical.

yeah the cinematography, music, visuals were good throughout but for political reasons the producers just had to have their cake and eat it too to the point where mussolinis takeover just didnt make any sense. they showed the communists do a little bit of token political violence when they raided the factory but other than that despite being depicted as teeming masses with overwhelming popular support they were totally pacifist and defenseless against a few dozen blackshirts that speedran them in like 2 episodes
