I really need to watch some LA legal drama, I need to watch a lot of shit
>>

Because the thing that drew people into Suits in the first place was Mike's photographic memory. Mike isn't in Suits LA.
>>
Was the original even that good? Like must watch good? I know it was pretty popular but I don't think I've heard anyone speak of its quality, either praise or criticism.

Because it doesnt have a character like Mike
>>
so what was the premise?
the original one was about a lawyer without a law degree and that was most of the appeal
>>
>>216490631
second rate actors with third rate acting
>>
it seemed so generic

mike being a nerd and specter being a hardass mentor is a kino dynamic

shows like entourage and californication already does the la degenerate genre better

It's pretty bad. It's probably the most egregious example of shitty competence porn TV for midwits. They also just ignore basically every aspect of how law works for dramatic effect. I can suspend my disbelief just fine but when literally everything in an episode can be characterized as "that's not how that works/that wouldn't go that way" I'm just out.

Suits itself was not a very popular program. Two years ago the Duchess of Sussex hired sunshine sachs the PR agency from entourage (ari gold) to fix her profile in America because it was waning and going into the toilet. Sunshine sachs used pull at netflix to engineer a meme with Netflix assent that the old show Suits was rocketing up the netflix most watched (no real reason was confected, it 'just was'), and Netflix either agreed to put it on the top watched thing, or sunshine sachs botted it there, which meant that people briefly did start watching it because they get shows of 'top watched' and because media does buzz about what's there. Anyway so that thing where people love the show, was fake paid for with Prince harry's Diana inheritance

It's also one of those shows tailor made for short form clipping. There are millions and millions of shorts across platforms with clips from the show which likely contributed to the studio overestimating how many people would watch a spin off.

It's interesting cause Suits LA had the same ratings more or less as seasons 4-5 of the original show which went on to run for 9 season. Seems pretty good considering the original ended 6 years ago and it's an entirely new cast. What were they expecting lol
