Revenge of the Sith is the one that was supposed to show how he actually became Darth Vader, not the first two. By the time it got there, there was no actual reason given other than that he just decided to. Sure, he wanted to save his wife. That's not going to make him massacre a bunch of kids. That just makes one think he was never a good guy and deserved to get fucked up. There's no cause and effect in that movie, things just happen because they're supposed to happen to get you to a New Hope. I'll give this to the Revenge of the Sith-defender ITT, it's the best sequel since The Phantom Menace.
