Wow fast food really does that to your liver!? Crazy.
>>
please stop attacking a man for his alcoholism. it could happen to you.
>>
>>216491303
Can we attack him because of his lies tho?
>>
>Throws up when eating McDonalds for the third day

I'm honestly certain this guy was binge drinking throughout that entire documentary

>Weird... your liver's inflamed. It's as fatty as the liver as someone downing a litre of vodka everyday for 10 years.
>>

He has admitted he was. The "healthy man" thing at the start was a lie.
>>
>>216491410
you can, but as alcoholics we're well-aware we're sneaky liars. not really some huge revelation, there.
>>
>>216491523
I'm healthy and I've been drinking for a little over 10 years every day. It's not rocket science just work out a little and eat well.

I rewatched a portion of it in the last year. It's so 2000's, you will feel nostalgic watching it (the style everyone has, which is not having any style, no one knew how to dress back then, the mcdonald's paper bag... etc). But this is how dumb the documentary is. Just in the small portion I watched, the documentary asks the viewers, paraphrasing here; "when is mcdonald's gonna start holding accountability for people getting fat?" I am not joking. They even bring up a case where a fat person was suing mcdonald's for getting fat and the documentary treated this case like it was worth bringing up because mcdonald's was in the wrong here.
>>
my teacher played it in my cooking class in high school
>>
Do Americans really need a documentary to tell them that eating big portions of fast food 3 times a day isn't healthy?
>>
the funny thing is mcdonalds knew from private investigators he was a full blown alcoholic. I suppose they decided it looked to bad to leak it.

i know this sounds a bit absolutist, but daily drinking is a problem. it just is.

i'm British and always thought it was part of muh culture, to the point i didn't believe people when they said they hadn't had a drink for weeks or even months (to me, beer/gin was just my drink, even if i didn't see it as getting drunk).

few years sober now. only five or six relapses. it's poison. shit drug.
>>
>>216492018
Why does he put soda over his food? Why does he have 3 sodas in the first place?
>>
>>216492050
I fucking hate how people here always act like you've just stabbed them when you refuse to drink.
>>
>>216491765
Watching early 2000s documentaries simply for the nostalgic atmosphere regardless of whatever slop agenda they push is peak kino.
For me it's bowling for columbine, obviously Michael Moore is a hack but the vibe is kino.
Frontline PBS has a few documentaries like this as well, a lot of post 9/11 war on terror documentaries that capture this feeling.

>tfw McDonalds killed its soul, wiping off a ton of menu items, a ton of advertising methods specifically those that appeal to kids, redecorated their interiors, all to appease a liar.

I think part of them wanted the heat so they could have an excuse to change to a more soulless corpo era. I think the big changes that happened after Supersize Me were always in the running, they just saw an pportunity to execute them.

>Amerisharts really believe that eating 9000 calories of fatty chemical slop every is healthy for you.
I simply don't believe this. These threads are made by paid shills for the fast food industry, right?

>Waaaa having a drink is bad for you
Jesus Christ, have a fucking pint and calm your tits, you tiresome pussy CUNT.
>>
>>216494125
Nobody is saying that, dumbass. Obviously eating mcdonalds every day is bad for you. No one is disagreeing with that. The problem is Spurlock (a raging alcoholic from the age of 13) lied about the effects of the experiment.
By the way, what country are you from? It must be paradise on earth compared to the ‘amerisharts’

>...Oh they just asked and you said yes every time even though no one told you to gorge yourself for all 3 meals a day?

Fuck you anon.
>>
>>216491765
They know they have retarded arguments so they just lie. His wife was a vegan with a face perfect for HR. Everyone started being scared scared of fat and meat because of fraudulent studies from the 80s that claimed every country with a high fat diet also had high heart disease, when in fact they just omitted every country that had high fat low heart disease so they could get the results they wanted.
>>
>>216491765
If anything, the whole thing is a case study in the sensationalized, manipulative bullshit that was passing for "documentaries" at the time. Not that we're much better today, but between this, the shit Michael Moore was making, and Al Gore lying on stage for 2 hours, the late 90s/early 00s were an insane time for agitprop.

The countries of Europe committed national and economic suicide over an image of a polar bear on a floating piece of ice, and absolutely nothing was achieved as a result, thanks to China India and Russia.

He probably was sober for some time before the first visit so his readings improved. Then they skyrocketed again after binging for a whole month.

Why didn’t the tests pick up the liver damage before he started the binge.
>>
>>216494125
They still believe in the fallacy of agency of the vast majority of people in capitalism. The fact is, people are fucking retarded and they need to be told what to do, i.e. not eat fastfood slop everyday till you die because you literally weigh 600 pounds. Alternatively you can have a shithole country where everyone is ill and obese and slaves to pharmaceutical corporations as a result of that.
>>
>>216495993
You can't act like that isn't the case today. It's all the same shit and they use the same techniques.

I don't even understand alcoholism desu. I'm saying this as someone who isn't a contrarian zoomer, but an elder millennial that very took part in drinking culture growing up.

Like, I understand it in the sense that once I pop a couple beers at a party, I'll keep sipping nervously and have a few more than I intend. But actually drinking hard alcohol first thing in the morning, being perpetually drunk, etc. just doesn't make sense to me.

Alcohol just absolutely ravages my stomach. It doesn't taste great. Makes me fat. Skin looks terrible and dehydrated.

Is it really all about 'liquid courage' 'truth serum' element of it? The glow you get after a short glass of scotch is a nice brief little high - but I'd rather smoke a joint.
>>
>>216497579
it's a weird treadmill, really. i'm teetotal now and alcohol is like hairspray/poison, yeah, and the inebriating effects are more sickly than pleasant.

but it did have a nice buzz in the same way as weed/xanax/other nice 'downers'. and i actually liked the taste of beer, as a drink (there aren't many nice non-alcoholic drinks for adults).

but at some point it's just a chemical addiction like any. you literally NEED alcohol. you can't go cold turkey - it's one of the few drugs where the withdrawal itself can actually kill you.
>>
>>216497579
It's starts with drinking because it feels good and makes the bad thoughts go away. It ends with you needing to drink to not fucking kill yourself.
>>
>>216496554
>Not that we're much better today
I agree.
