Questions are usually finished with a question mark
pretty cool game. but does anyone remember the 2000s Java applet (i think) that probably inspired it? more of a toy than a game. you had sand, water, lava...you'd click to place them, they'd fall and interact in different ways.
>>216493014i don't know what 'roguelike' actually means any more, but this is basically the definitive NetHack experience. constantly rerolling characters for a GOOD starting spell, or lucking out on the best scrolls early on.
>>216491824I'd watch it. Make it a tv sitcom series or just rip off The Minecraft Movie
>>216493031are they!
>>216493096world of sand?https://androdome.com/Sand/
>>216493393THAT'S IT thanks anon! no idea why the hell i struggled to find this last time i checked.brb sand.
>>216493422this is a more modern one that is neat toohttps://sandboxels.r74n.com/
>>216491824The only time I managed to win the game I realized I still had the spell lab 'dont' die' button still on...
>>216493142Luck out? I can consistently defeat the boss in under 40 minutes on nearly every single run and the times I die is only because I fucked up. There's nothing lucky about it unless you're trying to speedrun under 5-10 minutes and that shits for nerds and trannies.
>>216494882I downloaded the ability to savescum and now I can't stop using itHelp
>>216496196Eh, there are luck elements like any roguelike but you're right that most of the time you can look back on how you die and realize it was avoidable.
>>216493096danball's powder game is the one i knowhttps://dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust/
>>216493142if you feel like you must reroll nethack characters, you aren't skilled enough to come anywhere close to beating the game.the game can be beaten by just take notes and knowing how to be prepared and how to handle particular monsters
>>216496409true. the game IS like a giant puzzle, i know it's not 'balanced' by its very nature but it does feel shitty how much a random number or a tiny mistake can mean life or death.plus i play very casually, literally moving a step at a time. when Let's Play videos first took off i watched how the pros play and HOLY SHIT
>>216496409How about you go pay off your mortgage oldass
>>216496539almost every game of nethack is winnable (like, 95%+) if you know what you are doing> when Let's Play videos first took off i watched how the pros playoh, so you ruined the game for yourself. you can't ever take that back. it's one of the best games ever made, but a critical part of the fun is discovery.
>>216497227>it's one of the best games ever made, but a critical part of the fun is discovery.true. i was just curious seeing how people played it in real-time i suppose, they know all the insane vim shortcuts to walk east 30 tiles ignoring monsters or whatever-the-hell.before that i did look stuff up on the wiki sparingly, but it's way more fun to just explore and figure things out. go play NetHack, /tv/.
