>b...but muh cinemas take a cut!!
yes, same goes for all predator films
>b...but muh marketing costs
all predator films had marketing
>b..but muh Hollywood Accounting!!
“Hollywood accounting” refers to the practice in which producers make a movie’s reported costs look HIGHER than they actually were, not lower, thereby allowing the studio to show little or no profit on paper even when the film was financially successful, because inflating expenses lets the studio claim that a movie “didn’t make a profit,” which allows them to avoid paying profit-based royalties or backend points to actors, writers, directors, and investors who signed contracts entitling them to a share of the profits.
>NOW ADJUST FOR MUH INFLATION!!
Sure thing, chud. Due to inflation, the $100 million the original Predator made in 1987 have lost around 63.8% of their original purchasing power by 2025. They are now just worth $36.2 million. Meaning that Predator:Basedlands ALREADY made $141 million more.
