>>216498280I liked the movie but I was a little disappointed in it in some ways. For one, it didn't get as wild as I was hoping, it's more psychological about what might happen. Secondly, some of the effects are really cheesy, especially the fast forward back and forth head spasming stuff. The ending is disappointing too, not just because of the twist that's now been copied to death, but the explanation is too grounded and the title card appearing at the end is lame as hell. Also tim robbins acting kind of sucked.There were some great moments though, it was very atmospheric and I still look back on it fondly overall

Angel Heart has a very similar atmosphere to Jacob's Ladder. Dead Presidents is basically Jacob's Ladder without the demons. and more recently I actually think Tar has some scenes that are reminiscent of Jacob's Ladder but very subtlely. Its a great movie and the last time I watched it I felt the fact that his wife in the movie is dead in real life made it even more unsettling.
the hotel in SH2 was inspired by barton fink but i never see anyone mention that other than me, the smartest man to have been born in the past 100 years
