I don't get the hype for Bugonia and this is coming from a Yorgos and best Emma stan. It's just okay. Weakest of the 4 they've done together. On par with the original as a forgettable flick. And there's nothing wrong with that but people are praising it as of it's peak cinema. It's been a shit year so I guess there's not many to choose from.

bugonia is really great, because it comes close total recall type of ambiguity there and while all the crazy shit in there is still in the movie, it drops trukes left and right anyway. thats why i like the flat earth stills. it's basically well poisoning itself, to make it seem looney while still pointing the finger at big pharma corpos and similar destroying our planet. the real horror is not the aliens, but the horror of reality having to deal with these milquetoast humans like emma portrays, not even thinking what they do is wrong whilst only thinking about their own enrichment. "evil" precursor aliens are more appreciable to me than corpo faggots so yeah, thats a movie of the year for me, but i literally havent seen any other movie this year, so my vote doesnt count. it's that slight sc-fi concept mixed with realism, like the lobster, that sells it to me.
