the compromise is 100 years, if i'm still in a loop after 100 years then i might start killing people, but even then it would be in a vigilante sort of way, fighting crime. that way if the loop ends during my killing spree run, i could cope that 20 years in jail isn't so bad by comparison.

Man the first time I killed myself and woke up again, I would consider all the rest of the world fair game. It's nothing I wouldn't do to myself, so we're good by the golden rule.
If you know everyone's routine down to the millisecond then you could in theory kill many people and make it look like an accident in each case. So the possibility of the loop ending on your killing spree would be fine.
