>>216501587Am I the only one who thinks this movie really wasn’t that remarkable outside of Landa and the bar segment? Tarantino deflates all the tension in the story by having Landa betray the Nazis out of nowhere and not giving enough character to anyone besides him. It’s never in doubt at any point in the 3rd act that the Jew girl and Basterds are going to succeed in their plan. The Jew girl is killed and it still doesn’t even change anything — and if she did fail in her plan it wouldn’t have mattered anyways since the Basterds succeeded. So the movie has no real suspense after the bar chapter, the movie blew its load way too early and feels really anti-climactic despite the flashy finale because it’s so contrived
