It was always 90s unironically.
>>
>>216502308
are you sure you're not mixing it up with cujo?
>>
So many VHS tapes that we owned had ads for the Beethoven series. Never watched a single one of the films. I can still remember the scream clear as day though.
>>
>>216502308
80s lasted until ‘93 bro
90s lasted until 9/11
10s lasted until march 2020
Not sure when the switch from the 00s to the 10s happened.
>>
>>216502308
Great movie. But what the fuck is that weird thing on the drumstick. Used to see it all the time in shows and cartoons n shit, but what in the fuck is it?
>>
>>216502964
This. The 80's began in 1977 and lasted until 1993.
>>
Debi Mazar in Beethoven's 2nd is my dream woman. Fuck dogs.

I'm going out on a limb here and guess it's Americans trying to cover up the bone sticking out, for whatever retarded puritan reason you can imagine.

Apparently they are called manchettes and act like a sort of handle to not dirty your hands with grease. Which seems like a good enough reason to have them around, but having a dedicated product for just that is peak consumerism. But It's not a burger thing, they originated from europe, kek.
>>
Never watched these films as I can’t stand this breed

I learned something today.

Beethoven was kino.
It's easy to forget that the main plot was a corrupt vet wanting to blow Beethoven's brains out as part of a weapons test.

It was always a 90's movie. You just think it's the 80's because they drive an old-ass wood panel car.

it's a tiny paper crown to put on the head of the one who ate the most poultry so he can be identified in the streets as the poultry king.

The scene where the bad guy gets a bunch of needles launched at him disturbed me, and I wasn't an overly sensitive kid, things like Gremlins and Beetlejuice didn't bother me.
>>
Kinda weird how this film just got completely forgotten

I guess we don't really do these kinda of "put upon husband/father" comedies any more.
>>
>>216507210
did he die?
>>
>>216503546
They're to allow you to hold the turkey without getting grease on your hand. They're at least 200 years old (probably more) and originated in Europe you obsessed jeet.
>>
>>216502964
>80s lasted until ‘93 bro
it lasted until september 1991 when Nevermind and other iconic '90s albums came out
>>
The character didn't but the actor died 5 minutes later
>>
>>216507222
No, he actually survives, but I'm not sure if kid me picked up on that.
>>
>>216504112
That's also the point of the films.
>>
>>216502981
It acts as a handle so you can easily shove them up your ass without your finger slipping. Very popular in republican households
>>
>>216502964
2000s ended in 2008 actually
>>
i saw it in 90s so it must be 90s thing
>>
>>216508553

Its early 90s. That's an era on to itself. Late 80s and early 90s. Peak of boomer nostalgia for the 50s as well so alot of other movies at the time took place in the 50s. After the USSR fell and talk of "The Internet" and the new mellnium approaching the mood shifted in the country to the Y2K era in the late 90s. Mid 90s movies had a theme of, "okay so the USSR is gone and cold war is over, who are the new enemies and problems?", and that's when you had a lot of international terrorist or criminal themed movies. Late 90s was sci-fi heyday.

That's not a thing. You're just wrong and trying to defend it with a THING makes you a retard.

I have two of my own personal Mandela Effects. The first Mandela Effect is that I was sure that Dunston Checks In came out in 1995 when it actually came out in 1996. And the second Mandela Effect is that I was sure Bob Hoskins died in 2018, but he actually died in 2014.

>>
>>216502308
this was always pure early 90s kino
>>
>>216502528
Wow yeah I'd forgotten but you're right, I wonder if they were trying to shift it as it wasn't selling well
>>
>>216502964
people may not like it but this is true in terms of the spirit of the decade
>Not sure when the switch from the 00s to the 10s happened
throwing my guess in for 2012, gangnam style felt tonally completely different
>>
>>216512768
The 2000s was the last culturally distinctive decade. There's nothing culturally distinct about the 2010s and the 2020s.
>>
>>216512322
Correct.
>>
>>216507184
jewber*
>>
>>216514105
okay, not disagreeing as such, but spirit of the decade isn't entirely linked to culture as much as how that decade feels
>>
>>216502964
2000s and 2010s can be split into the Bush Era, the Obama Era, and then the Trump Era. Trump Era is more different from Bush Era and Obama Era than either one was from the other. Obama Era started with the election of Barack Obama, but also started with the Great Recession, and the very first smartphones. And Trump Era was mainly about the election of Trump, but it's also after the time when smartphones were ubiquitous rather than just common.

But then in March 2020 we had covid and for the next few years that was the main event, and then the Biden admin and second Trump admin are very much in the context of post-covid.

So 2000s and 2010s have three distinct eras, they don't quit fit the decades paradigm from the 20th century.
